Portland area motorcyclist killed

This is from the Oregonian website.

Lake Oswego motorcyclist killed
A motorcyclist who died when his bike slid off the road and into the Clackamas River has been identified as William "Wesley" Carter of Lake Oswego.

A passing motorist discovered Carter’s body and motorcycle submerged Sunday afternoon about five miles east of the Ripplebrook Ranger Station. Carter, 47, was riding on a curved section of Oregon 224 that follows the upper Clackamas River when he apparently hit a patch of icy road.

He and his motorcycle, a KTM 950 Adventure, slid an estimated 215 feet and went over a rocky 40-foot embankment before landing in an eddy about 4-feet deep. A sheriff’s office marine dive rescue team recovered the body.

Carter was wearing a motorcycle helmet and was dressed for the weather. It was unclear when the accident occurred.

A SAD TIME FOR SURE.

We all live life at our own pace and assume our own risks. I would rather believe he died pushing an envelope he liked pushing.
These crashes worry me as the anti-everything crowd are always looking for something else to protect us from.

Saw this on the news and came here first. Not many Adventures in these parts. Horribly sad to see pictures to go with a name...
