Great pics, great report, Gordy!!
![]() Some beautiful architecture and scenery down there...I had no idea. Although I'm not sure about riding up the steps at Margaritas...do they have a handicap access ramp??

Great report on some of the finest riding in the world. How was the route from Batopilas to Cerocahui? Did you cross the Urique river? How long did it take and how difficult was it? How was the river crossing?
Thanks. |

If you are trailering to Creel, a 525 would be great. I wouldn't take a 525 on any of this extended pavement. Besides........I enjoyed my electrics. You will need a tank for about a 100 mile range though. I have a EXC with the MXC tank on it and it would have been nice to have had it in some spots. However, I like the idea of riding to these areas and then riding the same bike I rode in on. It's all good though. I don't know enough about the V, but it was all I could do to push the 640 out of one of the predicaments I got in. (we are coming to that). For most of what we did, the thumpers were great, but SC and I agreed that we would like to try a 950 on this same ride because of the pavement stuff. |

We had the whole place to ourselves. Didn't even see one other dual sport bike. I think we saw about a total of 3 bikes moving, and these were while we were stopped at gas stations. |

The first crossing of the Urique went swell. The second optional..........not so swell. Time from Bat>Cer was about 5 hours. IIRC that was about 90 miles. Is that right Creep??

OK, while I am here.
This is typical scenery riding down into Urique. ![]() :yawn You never know what is going to be around the next corner. ![]() There was a huge eagle that kept soaring back and forth here, but my damn shutter lag coldn't catch him, so it's just a pic of a rock. ![]() Urique is a great little village. Probably one of the nicest that we visited. I could see kicking back and spending the night there. ![]() ![]() You would think that everyone here that needs a stovepipe would already have one. ![]() With some of the stuff we saw, you can't believe how many questions we have now. Justin recommended this spot right across from the plaza for lunch. ![]() Good call Justin!!

Great stuff Gordy & Supercreep. I've been going into the Copper Canyon system for several years, and every year is something new and amazing. The place is huge, and you could ride a lifetime there and not see it all.
I need to give Justin a call.

Good report and pics, Gordy.
Creel is a staging and distribution area. I understand what your feelings were. I think the Creel area got hit with a pretty hard winter blow just a few days ago. Done high class or low class, it's a blast. Again, kudos on your pics. Very nice. |
