I bet the creek crossing before the campground was fun.

There's nice stealth deer camp not to far from the parking lot at three forks.

I may see yall over at the Conoco on Sat morning. Fido's youngest brother is a 're-entry' rider. He just bought a used DRZ400. I've invited him to come poke along on Saturday. He's not been off the pavement in many years and I thought this might be a good intro for him. He'll probly truck it up from Cartersville. We'll see.

Well I've been there a bunch, but looking at the map, I'm not sure I can tell you. Looking at the map I guess it's FS rd 241 off of Gates Chapel Rd, but that road doesn't look long enough on the map. Maybe MB will chime in here, he goes by there all the time. Anyway its a narrow little fs road, with a lot of limited sight distance places and you have to watch for mountain bikers. A little walk from the parking to the camping, but you can see your bike, there is a sign there that says don't camp any closer than some distance..? to the creek, seen people get a ticket for camping closer. There is an outhouse but nothing else.

Excellent. I've been wanting to check out those TKC80's.

I don't think we're going to spend the weekend at the cabin this weekend because of other commitments, but anyone is welcome to park there if needed.

Post up that link to the detail topo maps you showed us a couple of weeks back. Google maps doesn't show enough detail. I don't know any of the FS roads around here by number, just by ole timer names and sometimes those don't match the names on maps.

You can tell I'm not very sharp when it comes to mapping, but here is where the Bear Creek Campground is located. It's right at the confluence or Bear Creek and Mountaintown Creek.
