SR,
If'n u was 6'-1", u wouldn't like all the turbulence hitting you in
the Face

& it's worse if you ride up on the front of the bike.

Sorry, I was thinking out loud

Hey BD! Sure am glad I am not 6' 11". That would be tough for a woman. I am just grateful my inseam is tall enough to be able to touch the ground on these modern bikes. Although I am known to drop a bike at zero mph. SR

If any of you boys are looking for a nw ga destination today on the bike or just a place to take the family, let me suggest the Shirly Miller Wildflower Trail in the pocket area of Pigeon Mountain, it doesn't get any better than it is right now. Stop in at the Pigeon Mountain Country Store for a grass fed longhorn beef hamburger cooked out back on their Big Green Egg.
http://www.pigeonmtcountrystore.webs.com/

BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE STUPID WMA RECREATIONAL PASSES. 3 bucks for a day or 19 bucks for a year, or a WMS hunting or fishing permit. Kids free. You can get it online.

Just a few pics, that do not do the place justice, nothing like it that I know of.

It has boardwalk for about half the trail, then just trail, you need real walking shoes for the last part that ends at this waterfall, you climb right up to it.

Then take the Pocket Trail, the trailhead is at the parking lot, at the top of the hill you will come to a pond on the left and spring on the right

Get off the trail and take the dirt road to the right, there is an old house foundation, old barn and great views from the fields.

I'm going to see if I can get a motorsickel stuck in the mud today.

Have you thought of making Banana's fosters or pancakes with the leftover bananas?

I bet they would liven up some banana pudding.

I keep some ginger round the house for Makers - a b&g Never mixed it with Irish - that'll change.

We were eating the nanas like pnuts at a ball game. Wishing there was ice cream in the house but not wanting to drive, will be next time.

Like that pudding thought.

Had a good time at the Scrub last weekend. Hooked up with Lucky and my father-in-law also joined us. A few pics....

Lucky's new steed. It suits him I think.

Mark and I waiting on Lucky to finish up some nice South GA sand.

Here he comes now....

My turn!

Short break on the Suwannee River. On the way home we stopped in Fargo where we usually heat some Ramen Noodles up on the Jetboils but this time we found out a 21 year old kid drowned the day previous and they were searching the river floor for his body. We decided to move on. RIP young man.

Then Saturday we hit up the track at Daytona and walked around. Eventually we made our way out and back to a little more sand after visiting DeSoto Springs where my Father-in-lawn learned to swim.

Quite possibly the highest point in FL . We saw quite a rainstorm up ahead but decided there was nothing to do but head towards it. We never did get any rain but it made for a few cool pics.

One Lucky took.

And finally headed back to Valdosta.

Then today, Dave and ABuck joined me for a great ride after breakfast at Foothill Grill in Dahlonega (and a side trip to repair my blown headlight bulb... thanks again fellas). Headed up some nice dirt roads to Helen where we push started a GS and headed up Tray Mtn. That road has always been gnarly but recent weather and even a tornado has really worn the road out. Good GOOD fun. From there we zagged to Hightower Rd and gave a GS a bath in the Tallulah River. No harm no foul and we all had good fun watching each other cross the river. ABuck split ways after we passed Dirt Dabber's house (we honked!) and a run down Lake Burton. Dave and I had lunch at Riders Hill. Nice to see they are busy as usual, and good to see PorkChop, GT, and Suches Rider if not for just a quick second. Headed south on 9 on my favorite bit of twisty a sport bike went off the road and GSP was on the scene. Glad there was a car in front of us!

A few pics from the day...

This guy was in serious trouble.

Hey Flux, those are some nice pics! You were in my neck of the woods, Valdosta, and I was going up to Milledgeville and back this weekend. Rode back today and bumped into VOLdog on a dirt road. We could've talked motorsickles all day, but I had aways to go yet. I had a great ride today. Did about 60 miles of dirt roads on a 200 mile trip. The ol' XL600 just puttered right along! Sorry, no pics. I haven't replaced my "bike" camera since it crapped out. By the way, who's selling the "DOG" Adv stickers?
