Awww, man. I giggled myself to sleep last night. I was planning to go get it tomorrow and drive it around in circles for a few days. I had all sorts of ideas about where to relocate it to: the roof of the local strip club was the leading idea.

Oh well. You saved me the trouble and I still had some fun out of it.

Whew. I thought about erasing my post for that reason exactly...would be funny for a few days anyway.

Michael, glad to hear your sons prognosis is good.
Gathumper, thanks again!

Charlie I just checked out the results on HP's website and saw Sean listed in the 45+ Vet class but no finishing number or DNF by his name which was strange. Been looking for vids but haven't found any so far.

I text him to find out how he did. He said he had a front flat during the first lap.

Ultra Heavy Duty (uhd) 4mm thick Michelin or MSR tubes has did the trick for me since 1986

He will be able to go back to school next week but no weight lifting, sports, or riding for several months. He is in a neck brace for at least 4 weeks, maybe longer. As long as he is allowed to recover properly he should be able to resume riding and racing in about 3 months time.

I had a chance to examine his helmet and it absolutely saved him. There are hairline spider web cracks across the left side of the face mask portion on the outer layer of the helmet. The cracks continue through the foam layer inside and you can see where the shock continued out the right side of the face mask. I intend to write a full thank you letter to Shoei when we get home.

He still doesn't remember the crash, only starting the bike and heading out on the track. From what I can piece together from the condition of the bike, his helmet and Leatt, and the bruising he has we think he might have overshot the jump, landed on the front end and when the forks compressed it caused him to grab a handful of front brake which instantly flipped him over the bars and face first into the ground at full speed.

glad to hear it I hope all works out and I will keep you guys in my thoughts

I had a flat front on the DRZ up Sarah's Creek with no tools and made it back to Persimmon. It was a little squirley under 30 mph.
