I was in Tellico Plains around lunchtime. Lots of bikes on the Skyway. Saw Flux at Mini Mikes. Wanted to sign my t-shirt, said it'd be like Picasso some day.

Came back down from Stratton Meadows on dirt and back out the river to Tellico, then down 315 to Reliance and 30 to 64, both of which were great stretches. Great day to ride.

My red R12GS in the foreground. And it was filling up just as a few of us left around 1230. Word's gettin' out and the burgers are good. I understand the menu will be expanded soon.

I've been enjoying a nice 3 day weekend riding with my Dad for Father's day weekend. It was kind of spur of the moment Thursday night when I realized I had Friday off and remembered Sunday was Father's Day. I don't get to ride that often on multiple day trips with my Dad, so I called him Thursday night, and he was good with riding for 3 days. We left Friday and visited TWoS on Friday. They weren't really open or serving lunch on Friday, but got to meet Bob Johnson and check out the new bath house and admire all the nice changes they have made. I hope to make it back to have lunch.

We headed up to BRMC for Friday night and had a cabin there that a buddy of mine gave up at the last minute and let us have. Today, we left BRMC and made our way over to Iron Horse. Again, a rider left early and we managed to score another cabin!

Tomorrow, we'll head home, but its been a very enjoyable weekend and perfect weather!

Anyone else up on 129 just north of Turner's Corner on Sunday and see the poor guy who stuffed his Shelby Cobra(classic 427 variety) into the mountain?

He seemed fine, cop was there with him. Weird part was it was on a straightaway...he must have really gotten on it coming out of one of the turns and the rear end got away. Looks like he made it clear across the runnoff ditch and up the mountain side.

Poor bugger, it was a beaut..car was catch me red and actually didn't look too bad but I gotta think it took a good hit to the frame. Anyway glad he looked ok.

Hoping it was a kit car! Even then those are pretty cool. Always been a dream car of mine. Simple solution to going fast; less weight, MORE power!

Yours and mine both that's why I felt so bad for the guy. If it was a kit - alot of time and love went into it.

Did you just call a Shelby Cobra a Mustang?

I don't want to live on this planet anymore!

It wasn't,,,,, was a red one. Kit car as I think the body was fiberglass judging by the damage.

Upon closer review, clearly it is a Subaru.

Highland Park Hare Scamble- ADV class

I'll make a separate thread once I confirm some details but for now here's the scoop:

Looks like Paul is going to put on two more Hare Scramble races at Highland Park. I did the one back in November with FastDirt505 and really had a good time. The course is pretty easy, plenty of passing opportunities, and you can hang around and ride the rest of the day if you want as well.

Dates that he has announced tentatively:

Sept 29 - Fall Classic

Oct 27 - Zombie Run! (not sure what this is, but sounds like fun!)

Now for the fun part! Paul has agreed to run another Adventure class for the big bikes. Last year it was the V-twin class but IMHO as long as it's over 400lbs, I'm good with it running in the ADV class. So if you want to come out and run your ADV class bike, bring it on! Last year I ran my 950 in the race and had a blast! There were three of us, two on KTM 950's and one guy on a BMW 1200 (HP2e). Hopefully we'll get some more folks out this year.

I'll post up more details and it's own thread when I get a few more details, but for now mark your calenders.

Pass it around, especially if you know of someone with an ADV bike that would be interested, would be nice to see a whole line of big bikes ready to rumble!
