Got 'em all out.. The lower I welded a bead around 1/2 and it pretty much fell out with a little persuasion. the upper I couldn't get as much of a bead welded around it and and I had an idea to put a bend in my long screwdriver to get a little more bite top smack it from behind.. well, the screw driver snapped and now it was too short to get a good smack with a hammer on it. A trip to Harbor freight and an 18in pry bar did the trick! the race/bearing on the steering shaft came off pretty easy. I cut a groove into it and then smacked it with a chisel.. loosened right up and I pulled it off with a pliers.

Now I'm just waiting on parts to show up. should be here for the weekend.

Good deal, I've had good luck with a heat gun and the freezer when replacing bearings.

HP HS Sept 29th

I'll make a separate post somewhere in the near future but just a heads up- Highland Park Resort is having another of their Hare Scrambles races on Sunday Sept 29th. Very fun, low key race. but here's the best part- Paul will have an ADV/V-twin class for the big boys. Last fall we had three of us show up (two 950's and an HP2e). We need a couple more big bikes to make it more fun. Bring something over/close to 400lbs+ and you can join in with us. I know at least myself on the 950 will be there and another guy on the HP2e will be there...

anyone else want to join in on the fun?? trails are not super technical (I'd leave my side bags at home though) so come on out and join in the fun!

www.highlandparkresort.com for those not familiar with the place. I'll probably stay and ride at the park after the race.

if you want to ride a smaller bike, bring that along, or just do what FriedDuck did last year, rent a 350, race it and then ride it the rest of the day.

Add a couple of bruised ribs, some flat tires, a quart of tequila and you got a Beaver Rally.
