Sounds like you've got it covered.

Husky 450 tank fairing bolt

won't come out. Just turns. It's the small bolt in the front of the tank that holds the fairing tab. I think it's a stripped thread on the bolt or in the tank embedded nut. If I can get it out, I can re-tap the nut and use a new bolt, but need to get the bolt out first.
Any suggestions other than nuking the tank?

That's true. My family and I were on the way to Mississippi last Thursday, and my wife was driving through Atlanta. Well, the GPS was saying one way, but the big green sign said " Birmingham", Traci followed the GPS, and we had to reroute. I told her common sense had to kick in at some point. I'm not going to repeat what she replied with.

I did that, (followed the GPS) leaving the Liberty Park in New Jersey. I was thinking I should be taking a left. Garmin said right. $12 for the Holland Tunnel and then I was stuck in traffic on Broadway with no way back unless I spent another $12.

If you can get anything behind it. take some fishing line or thread and put a slip not around the head of the bolt. Once on, apply pressure outward as you turn it.

If not, get something on the back of the bolt and apply pressure(somehow) outward on the bolt as you unscrew.

Any problems- insert beer

Good idea on the pulling but no way to get behind it as it's one of those nuts that's pressed into the plastic tank. I've heard of problems like this on the KTM as well, but I've not dealt with this before.
Thanks.

I've gotten lazy. I learned orienteering in the scouts but the GPS with a little common sense is too damn easy. Plus every once in a while you get the nice surprise of finding a new shortcut.

BTW nice vid Jeff. I need to get down there for the next one.

Well, I have the Spot activated so now when I get lost I can push a button for someone to come find me.

Wife and I left Barber, headed North from the far South end of the Talledega NF, got off on WireGrass Rd...riding along on some nice dusty dry gravel..alls good, Old Garmin 76s is up and running..we are tracking along in blank space on the screen..then the battery dies..a few min later we come to a very large fork in the road...what to do..??
Do we go left or right..hummmm, stop, whip out the iphone..NO Service..
BackSeat pipes up, "What did we do back when we didn't have that shit"...ahhhh hummm "Pick one, Left or Right"..."Oh No, You Pick".

We went Right...seemed to work out ok..didn't bother with either phone or GPS the rest of the trip, and made it back home ok.

TNF was fun, went thru Cheaha, and the whole way back stayed on two lane roads..didnt take one pic.

Barber was a zoo..Got to visit with friends, and see some nice bikes, ate good food Sat. night at the track..Nice night ride back to Childersburg in the dark..well it was dark untill I flipped on the 1000watts of Hella Goodness...LOL
