Count me in.
Rosy, with tools and fully fueled is likely coming in around 360 pounds.
But, she hasn't failed to tote my carcass around most obstacles. All is fine until I have to pick the bitch up off of me. She has a tendency to just lay there. After moving her, I'm usually spent for the next hour...

Gotta take more water on the next trip out there. The only place to refill water is at the top of Tibbs at the lake park facilities. Its kind of a reward for making it to the top.

Just bring an extra clutch lever and you'll be fine.

Next time up there I'm going to see where that trail goes on the other side of the creek. Are you with me?

I will be at Windy Gap on Sunday. I haven't been there since 2006

Are you going to ride down Windy Gap and then back up Tibbs? I ride Tibbs pretty often but I think the last time I did Windy Gap I we spent most of our time hauling Tukata's KLR over obstacles.
I'm in. July 6 would work.

Would likely start on the Southern or lower side of Windy Gap OHV. Then, ride UP Tibbs. There were numerous quads out there last weekend and they are starting to create some 'cheat' trails around the hardest parts of Tibbs. Its all good riding. But, I think to earn the virtual Tibbs club patch, you have to stay on the main trail.
I had not planned to try the Windy Gap approach to Lake Conasauga. There are parts of that trail the 13 inch clearance on my XLR can't make it over...

My understanding is Tracy took his KLR up that trail but came back with a lot less parts attached to the bike...

If anyone goes this weekend, take videos or pics. Will likely be around the 4th before I can make it out there.

Sunday the 6th sounds good to me. Going up Windy Gap has gotten a lot easier now that I have done it a dozen times or more. I'm starting to think Tibbs is harder now.

How about we meet in the lower parking lot at 9:00am Sunday the 6th?

Not sure if you plan to ride or trailer but I live off Gates Chapel Rd and will have guests leaving that morning so meeting at my place or where Gates Chapel turns to dirt would be my preference.
I can do the lower OHV lot but it would take me longer as I'd need to ride thru Mulberry Gap to get there. Maybe easier to just count me out if others want to meet at 9 at the Chatsworth side. I'll watch the thread for opinions and options.

Yeah, YT's quality has gone to crap. I used not care for Vimeo, but they don't compress your video's as much.

I think SmugMug's video option is pretty good overall.

Need my bathing suit??

Mr. Twisty - are you planning on a first-time river crossing on that side trail off of Tibbs? I want to watch you attempt that one. I will give it a shot if you will help drain the water out of my KTM once it goes swimming!

i rode up around suches area yesterday. started around Dawsonville/(first section? kinda muddy with the rain we have been having) and hit dirt most of the way to TwoS. Great traction, no dust and just nice to have the roads to myself.

Started raining right around the ranger base. Had lunch, sat of the deck watching it rain. Decided it wasn't going to get better so went over and hit flatland road. the first creek crossing, then a bit of dirt, then a second creek crossing was just one big flow and a bit of a flow of water in most of the gullies. :)

I did get some good video, it was pretty sloppy headed up the hills, I think my rear wheel caught up to my front wheel a few times. I"ll try to get some video posted sometime this weekend. Took cooper and wandered around to get to Riders Hill via dirt, looked for some waterproof luggage, then hit the pavement back to ATL. Even ran my grip heaters for a bit. lol. Nice thing was around 369 or so, rain stopped, sun was out and most of my gear was dry by the time I got home! Got home, ran a couple of miles (ready for the peachtree), took a shower and rode the bike to dinner. it was a very good friday!

I did see what looked to be a motorcycle wreck on 400 northbound around exit 13 or 14? blue Yamaha, maybe R6? anyone pass it or have any details?
