Just before you cross the concrete bridge that is on the side closer to Sautee, look to the left. This road is on my GPS and looks like it would go all the way through if it was not for a huge tree that had fallen.

flux,

It was good to see you and Clay and that quer Coates.

I didn't spend much time either day -- a couple of hours Saturday and about an hour yesterday, most of which was spent watching Tommi Ahvala do cool stuff on his trials bike. I didn't try to do any of the demo rides since I figured that that could get very expensive very fast.

After I saw the three of you yesterday, I went by my brother's place to hang out with him for a little while before he went out for a night of crime fighting (he's a sheriff's deputy). My wife called form Hendersonville and said, "Did you take the keys to the condo with you?" Yep, I had the keys to my in-laws' place in my pocket, and the guy who checks on the place for them came by in the half hour she was out of the place and locked her out. So I had the, umm, pleasure of a 200-plus mile round-trip slab ride starting about 4 p.m. to take the keys back. I really appreciated my heated gear last night.

All the best,
Chris

Land, good to hear from you, buddy.

I haven't seen you around much lately. Hopefully life is good.

We should cross paths this spring, if not before then, no later than early summer.

Oh, BTW, I'll take any kind of heat I can this time of year. I rode into work Saturday morning waaaayyyy before the sun came up, brisk ride fo sho.

That's a plastic 16 oz beer normally found near the coast/beach or large pools.

Where you at, Joe?

It's where Coats ran away from because of the invasion.

Willy...
Check this out...

I was at Universal and Hollywood Studios theme parks in Orlando, FL
They must have used this 1985 KLR "600" in a movie. It was just parked in a cafeteria as decor with no story on it. We had lunch next to it which was kinda cool for me being a KLR lover and all.
BTW...ET was my drinking buddy. It's a great thing that they sell beer at Disney I tell ya. 2 days of walking, you need some pain relief if ya know what I mean. $5.50 a beer ain't no bargin but it's nice to park on a bench every 2 hours or so for a cold one.

Look for a town called Sautee East (I think) of Helen. Lynch Mtn is just north of town. Near the _______ covered bridge. Can't think of the name of it right now... whatever one I just posted a pic of.

Here's a story I almost forgot about from the weekend.

We went to the Greenville cycle show and on the way back in BOUNTY LAND SC or some wierd little town like that, we stopped for fuel. Coates rides a KTM 950. Some lady pulled up in her mini van, typical redneck lookin' lady, nothing special far as I could see. She walks over, looks at the bikes... "Great" I think, this should be comical. She asks who rides the KTM. She says she watched that Long Way AROUND and KTM was their first choice, she had never seen one in person. Then she said that boy Charlie could really ride. Totally NOT what we were expecting. There's a lesson to be learned there for sure.

Take hwy 75 north of Cleveland to Helen turn right at the Indian Mound. You will come to a little town (Sautee) this road is 255 I think, take a left. The covered bridge is down on the right.

They are like living in a company town. The big guys tell you how much you will make per bird, how much you will pay for food, what new equipment you have to buy to meet their new requirements, and what interest you will have to pay on the loan they gave you to buy the new eqquipment.

Lucky you didn't have to get a KLR.
