You guys are too much! You should get stickers or matching Tshirts that say 'Mud Is My Friend.'

Well, we are headed over to TrackRock campground to help out with the trials event today. We'll be checking a section, so if any of you guys decide to come by just look for one of the many people covered in mud!

Be safe today everyone!

New cast last Thursday, doc says 3 more weeks!!!! Then, he pulled out an anvil, strategically placed my jewels on it, then SLAMMED 'em with a 20Lb. sledge hammer..."Then, we will have a soft cast for 4-6 weeks before any severe duty or riding..." I coulda choked him with my pinky. Worse thing is the wife sitting there smiling and grinning.... UGhhhh She musta paid the saw bones Fokker.

I did get on the bike yesterday and I am pretty sure I can get a boot on the foot.... The cast is round in my hand, so I can grab the bars. Twisting the wrist is a challenge, of which I am sure I can overcome. Maybe the wife will take off one day this week and I will give it a test run. Mom did tell stories of casts being cut off to race as a kid, so at least I may have her in my corner... We'll see. I will NOT take the wife back for any follow up visits... GUARANTEED

Dang, Wattner. I didn't realize you were tore up that bad. Wished I'd had known though, I woulda invited you and offered you a lift out to the trials event in Blairsville today, sorry, I had no idea. Prolly not your favorite thing to do, getting outta the house was good medicine for me while I was down.

Best of luck with your target. End of April?

Here's what happened to me if this makes you feel any better:

Broken Tibia up on Duncan Ridge by Coopers Creek. Rode home. Wife's outta town, my daughter is at work. I use an auto parts stool/bar stool to crutch my butt out to my truck and ask a neighbor to shove my bike in the garage and put my lawn mower gas in my truck because I was on empty.

Get to the ER and ask a family leaving the hospital if they'd be so kind to roll a wheel chair out because I couldn't walk, (shoulda brought the auto parts chair along) they brought out a chair and the man even wheeled me on into the ER.

Triage, yada, yada and so forth I finally see the x-ray tech and he takes me back. Back up, they cut my clothes off for x-rays due to blood and my pain. I'm on delotta with x-ray tech after he's finished and he tells me: The doctor's gonna have the final word in this cause he's got the high tech computer thinga-ma-bobber, but I can't see anything broken.

I'm thinking I've just been real punch drunk and it's a bone bruise. Doc comes in. It's broke, see it right here. Wraps me up, includes some meds and sends me home to see a specialist three days later.

Specialist post x-ray three days later: I don't see anything broken on my x-ray, what concerns me is I can see it from the ER x-ray. Go ahead and start putting weight on it and come back and see me in a week. How about pain doc? No worries, here a script for sixty percocet.

One week later the x-ray tech comes to my room and calls me back. As I enter there's another tech in there telling the tech that just brought me back "I can't believe how much cleaning the thinga-ma-bobber helped, you see things so much better now". I didn't think too much of it at the time, but after they were finished with me they get me back to my room to wait for the doc.

He comes in closes the door, looks at me and says, "It's broke alright, look right here, it broke in a V which kept it cradled and us from having to set it". What now Doc? Six weeks no weight. Period. Me:WHAT? How about pain meds, I'm still in a lot of pain. Over the counter things are your friend in situations like this so you don't hurt yourself, I'll give you a weeks worth of Loratabs though.

Six week Visit: Doc go ahead and start putting weight on it and come see me in two weeks. I called back in a week and a half and told them I was walking just fine and needed to get back to work, would they please give me release. They did, I never went back.

Long winded there I know. That was a year ago last month when it all started. I don't think I'll ever forget that experience though and it makes me feel for the riders that are out just like I was. If'n there's anything you want or need, feel free to holler.
