Blake, Dags, Andrew, and I had a good day of thumper riding. Got a borrowed WR250 from Moto400 while the Tiger is getting pieced together. If I cold buy another thumper right now I can honestly say the Little WR That Could would be at the top of the list. I'm heading Kirk's direction and going with a smaller-bore machine next time. Fun, fun stuff.
I got to ride one of those last month, and was quite impressed. I want too! Merry Christmas DOGS! And a Happy New Year to you all. Ride safe.

Hey Flux. which WR250? The dual-sport "R" or "X" or an "F"?

The dual sport "R". For $5K for a new one, I wouldn't hesitate. I think everyone in the group was impressed with it way more than we thought we would be. I know I was.

It started out innocently enough. Keith borrowed me this little WR while my Tiger is in the shop... so a group was organized and we'd head out for a little loop.

Andrew made the drive from Dumpwoody and realized he had forgotten his key so had to turn around and go home, then met up with us later. I told him that's what he gets for being a trailer queen but he didn't laugh.

Look how clean these bikes are!

It didn't take long for things to get interesting!

We hit some FS roads and stuff local around Dawsonville/Dahlonega. Met Andrew at Smokin' Gold in Dahlonega for lunch and headed back out.

Back to the good stuff!

Hey Flux! Were you guys in the Suches area at all yesterday during your ride? I was out on my 990 around 11:30ish when I saw a group of thumper riders on 42. I was headed toward Springer mountain and they were headed toward Suches. Was that your group?

Before I purchased my DRZ back in '06 I had a WR250F for about a year. It was a great bike. The only reason I parted with it was because it was not street legal and I wanted to dualsport ride. It wast fast and nimble.

The valve interval is 26,000 miles IIRC. The bike really opens up with a few tweaks to the airbox and a fuel programmer. I have an R for my wife, an R for my daughter and an X for myself with a big-bore kit on it. Very nice.

Great ride! I had 155 miles on the dial when I got home and most of it off road I am sore but in a good way! The rivers are deep and we must of gone through all of them. Flux and his WR250r did a good job as did Dags and Andrew. At one point I was going through a mud and rock garden at what I thought was a good clip and to my right comes Dags hell bent for high water! He and his special edition Zip-tie Husky are a magic combination! Andrew gets the cleanest bike award and an extra riding buddy point for helping me up with my 640. I had Cycle gear install new 606's and I hated them all day as I complained about the high psi. Flux after my first crash said would you please for the love of God check your psi and when I did they were both at 30 I took them down to 20 and had a great ride! I lost my left front turn signal but that was it.

Thanks!
