I'm looking at this Westfest thing. I rode right thru there a few years ago on the 'Wing.
within 2 hours ride I am very close friends with two different families with lots of room....hmmmmmmm....that is some beautiful country. It's near Big Hole...a very sad place. IIRC that was a LONG ride.....even for FIDO.

"ER" is in May. "West Fest" is in July.

Hi Patty, yup, I am loving this little bike. If I could buy another thumper right now it would honestly be the one. I think even Darren is eyeballing it. But, I washed it up after yesterday's ride and am giving it back to Keith before I destroy it. I dropped it in the First Section creek and bent the front brake lever. I also noticed the frame is starting to show signs of my boots rubbing on it, after 100 miles of nasty offroading. I'd definitely put frame guards on if it were mine.

I am on the "IN" list for West Fest. I will be leaving about a week early and going thru South Dakota staying at a friends house in Cody, WY and hanging with a friend in Red Lodge and Billings, MT before going to Darby for the Fest. I will also be riding thru Yellowstone and over the Beartooth switchbacks as well. I've been thru there before but not on a bike.

The First Section stream crossing has gotten very deep once again... maybe deeper than ever. There is also a ton of debris in the middle again. I'm glad I wasn't on the Tiger... it'll be awhile before I try that again... all this rain has made it a slick area. I had trouble in a few ruts with the 50/50 tires the WRR comes shod with. I cased the Little Yamaha on a rock and got tossed off balance. That was after this... no pics of the carnage though. At least it was clean water. Bill fell in a stagnant mudhole later.
