Glad to see the conduit racks still holding up.

Heh. Good eye. Yes indeed, they have held up remarkably well. No issues with them at all despite many drops and abuse like you see here. (yes, the bags were loaded at the time)

Unfortunately I have had less luck bags. Later that same day I ripped another pocket off the side when I caught a root sticking out in to a deeply rutted trail. Thats the second set I've destroyed in as many years. I may ultimately end up retiring the conduit in favor of either the Wolfman system or a set of hard bags.

Conduit and hard bags are not mutually exclusive

Flawless!

Just finsihed the TCAT three day Roaming Rally 2011! Bike ran flawlessly even though it pour rain, and the route was wall to wall water and mud. It was GREAT!

Nice! I hadn't seen that post yet. Glad I could be an inspiration. I like your mounting system. Clever!

The thought of Pelican-ish cases has crossed my mind too, and I could probably even get them mounted on the rack I have. But the thing that keeps sticking in my mind is that when I inevitably end up dropping it (again), I'd much rather have a soft bag land on me than a hard case...

I like the looks of the Wolfman system. The only hesitation is I'm not sure if their bags are big enough (the soft bags I have are just a tinsy bit small - especially since losing the pocket!), but they are semi-local to me so I could just ride up there and see for myself.
