I see two quarts of oil peeking out from the top case...did you feed the KLR? Yours probably has an appetite like my 04. What it doesn't consume, it dribbles it from various areas.

No external leaks!

I will go through some oil though. I think over that events I used about 2/3 of a quart. I gave the rest away to somebody with an F800GS who put a rock through their case.

The KLR is awfully heavy anyway, might as well carry a few spares ;)

Hey Scott what is that Carnegie area like. Can you ride up there. I drove through the area last year for work and it looked interesting.

Voltmeter

I just put a Duchin Dash on my KLR. Now I'd like to put a voltmeter on the dash, problem is, from what I hear, digital voltmeters are hard to see in the sunshine; cure might be an analog voltmeter. Does anyone make one that is water proof?

It's not the best, but it's not the worst, I've taken my KLR up there a few times but it's really for smaller bikes

I was just up there Sunday on my XR400
From XR400

Saturday ride is it spring yet?

Went for a ride Saturday and it snowed on Sunday. What gives? I thought it was spring?

Not an analog needle meter, but I really like the Heads Up Voltage Monitor from Signal Dynamics. I can easily tell how things are charging when I'm running a heated jacket liner and/or heated grips. It also doesn't take up much space on the dash - just a 1/4" hole for the multi-color LED. Waterproof, too.

Wyo-Obie,

What headlight setup are you running? Do you like it? Got any shots from head on?
