The dirt pig at rest during a pit stop today, had my small box on the back with tubes, tire levers, first aid kit, UHF radio and cereal bars. The side soft bag with compressor, siphon kit and some rain gear. Newly installed MT21 front and 606 rear. It's a mountain goat with a pot belly, haha!

Went for an adventure today with a couple of friends on the KLR. My buddy (and his fiance) were on a Yamaha TDM850.

All I know is twisting and winding roads are the shit :

Picked up my KLR a little less than a year ago. Finally got her set up for some touring. This was my first trip out after installing the racks. Took her out to a local lake for a quick overnight.

Congrats on your first overnighter with the KLR...it's all fine tuning from there

You have enough crap on there to be out and about for a month. Back in my day day, all you needed was gas money for an over nighter and a bottle of booze. Have a safe ride.

Nice setup and red is the best version! I like the soft panniers and the tent in front of the box as well. Was yours fairly solid on the hwy?

The days of the trailwings, or mud-skates, ha! Have MT21 front with 606 rear now. Anyone mounted soft bags on engine guards?

This was my set-up for a 3 day trip, though we weren't tenting it.

Some recent pics

The Churchill River

It was at about this point I decided to turn around.

And I finally chopped the fairing.

Not 100% sure I'm happy with the change, but it does give me room for this
