some states with inspection require the tail light and signals to work with the engine OFF

Can you show me how you mounted that pelican? I've got one sitting around and would love to throw it on the XT. Did you just attach it at the 4 mounting holes for the rubber luggage rack?

Well the rubber thing only has 2 bolts and it slips in at the front. Yes, i used longer bolts and some spacers(read: bigger nuts) at the back and drilled holes in the front.

Im going to be working on a better mount setup soon. Planning on mounting top loading pelican cases on the sides soon.

Where would a person buy a capacitor like that anyways? Im not very familiar with how one would install on on our bikes either. (hope you dont mind me asking ya some more info about it!)

Does Yamaha TT600 Belgarda counts?

I just sold my '95 Yamaha TT600 which is actually an XT600 engine within an Italian frame and plastics.
Did a lot of changes and modifications.

Hello chaps, I've picked up an '85 Tenere project and I have been warned there is a seized speedo drive.

The previous owner said he had it soaking in WD40 and it wouldn't budge so I'm going to take apart the front end at the weekend and have a look (and obviously test the obvious things like cables and clocks). If it is seized is there anything I can do? Is there a ready-made replacement from another bike? Everything I've found on eBay for the XT600 has looked old and knackered.

Spring Revisted and Light Question

Ok so I am still looking for this spring, I called chaparrale and they do not have it. Its like a 5 dollar part, but essential for me to get my bike plated this up coming summer! If anyone has one, or a old parts bike that has one, i would love to get it from ya. The part is listed below.

Also, does anyone know if led signal lights would be ok on our bikes? The wattage of them is pretty low, and they SEEM pretty bright. Just would like to know what you guys thought before I actually go out and buy them.

Would like to know more about the capacitor instead of the battery too, if anyone has some info or whatnot on it!

Modified tail sections?

Anyone get rid of the huge tail section (fender/taillight) on their XT and replace it with something that looks a little better and less bulky? Interested to see some pictures if you guys have any.

Craigslist came through for me this time. Scored a nice windscreen for $35. Works great on the XT.

It must have been a "get rid of the windshield weekend". I got one just like this one from Craigslist. I traded an old Playstation for it.

Hey Bandit, take a picture of how you've attached the windscreen. I'm trying to come up with a sleeve to go over the cross bar so the clamps intended for the handlebars will fit. That's the only way the windshield will work. I've tried a few things but so far they aren't secure enough for me.

I'm also trying to figure out the Pelican case attachment. I know where the back 2 holes are located. I can't figure out the two bolt holes you used for the front 2 bolts.
