Tach Needle off

Hey guys my needle in the tach came loose and fell off and now is bouncing around inside, Last night I removed the tach, In the back there are 2 screws I removed but it didn't come apart, Is this thing sealed some how after the screws are removed? I tried pulling it apart and separating it with no luck.

Yes, You can`t not get them apart. I try and broke my tach and speedometer too. yamaha.
So, you can get one off e-bay for big $$$$!! or look for a set of meters from a bone yard. Good Luck!!!!

Same problem here, bought a Trail Tech . Love it. Speedo, tach, ODO, trip, top rpm, top mph, shift lights and even temp if you hook it to the drain plug. [oil temp] Saw one on ebay for 100 bucks

Shout out! I need a secondary carb[ right side] main jet fo the 84-89 xt 600. stock 130 or even the optional 125. The 135 from the TT is too rich for the altitude.

Heads up! DG just released a mid pipe and silencer system for the 90-95 xt 600 $206. Have one on order. Let you know how it does. 4 levels of baffle available.

Hi guys wondering if you could help me- Carb problems I think

I bought a non-runner which apparently was running - Petrol was rusty.

Cleaned it all out - cleaned the carb and now it starts and runs fine

But...

When I rev up the engine - it suddenly hits a ceiling and wont rev any higher, (it sounds like its bouncing of an engine limiter but obviously isnt)

Could it be the second part of the carb not opening (the vacuum operated bit)? whats the most likely explanation/fix

I checked the diaphragm on the second carb when I had it in bits last week and it looked fine - it moved the valve up and down when I sucked on the big thick tube -

When you cleaned the carb, did you take out that tiny screen, if I recall it is located where the line from the tank switch goes on the carb.

I would try that if you havent removed it. I know the xt has the screen, I just work on various bikes and dont remember exactly where it is.

When I removed mine, the bike ran awesome. To this day, even in minus 20 celcius weather, the bike will start on one kick, no stumbling or anything through the whole throttle range.

The optional smaller jet is very hard to find. I did find one in California a few years back (the 125 is in my bike now). I have my 130 still though.

P/N 5Y1-14343-63 for the #125 secondary main jet.

You could try a 120 main jet as an alternative.

And for the dude with the tach needle off, mine quit working a while ago and I took it apart. You should be able to put it back on. Probably won't work the same though.
