Thumb heres mine........ as i bought her and now

she was a real mess! replaced lots of stuff........ spent so much on her i could have bought a year 2000 Xt in the UK for same money! but at least she is 100% mechanically perfect........ok, maybe the wheels could do with a re-spoke..........

nice bike,

heres an old photo of mine near Safi in Moroc I think, this was a fantastic bike. It really inspired confidence off road and was a lot of fun.
Although too much confdence led to a busted hip and leg in mauri, still I'm told the 2 metres of air I got off the dune was very impressive. landing on the front wheel wasn't so clever. happy days.

Dumb question here but I am going to ask anyways.
What makes the XT600 wheelie so easily? A friend of mine had a stock 1986 model and the thing would loft the front end without even trying just by twisting the throttle. My 1986 XL600 needs a good yank at the same time as the throttle twist. Is it a case of a better carburator or cam?
Thanks guys

I have fitted a French Army first aid box to my XT.Holds all I need for a day trip, not too big that it gets in the way, can't feel the weight....water proof. And best of all,it's a perfect colour match!
