DR650 Accessories

The New and Improved DR650 Accessory Thread

2012 Update - The DR Accessory Thread Lives Again

I'm going to sort through all the old links and clean everything up and then start adding new information. Stop by and post anything you would like to see included.

As long as there is interest and value to the thread I'lll try and keep it up to date.

I've been looking for various accessories for my DR650 and they are scattered about in threads here and elsewhere, and it was hard for me to find things (or REALLY hard to find it AGAIN when I decided I needed it and remembered seeing it SOMEWHERE!).

I know this is somewhat redundant as many of these items are discussed in the two BIG DR650 threads along with many other short DR discussions, but I hope someone may benefit from all these links being kept together.

OK, That's all for tonight, I'll check in and add more as I run across them.

Although not as plentiful as KLR, DRZ, and KTM aftermarket, there are quite a few useful accessories for the DR.

*** 2012 Edit *** The statement above was originally made in 2007 and we've come a long way since then. Now the DR is no longer the outlaw that it once was, and there's a lot more aftermarket support.

I just thought I'd share what I've found so far. Please feel free to add anything else you know of.

Sites with dedicated DR650 parts and accessories...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kientech - Jesse and his wife Janet have long been a GREAT resource for DR650 and DR350 parts and info.
They have a nice assortment of DR650 accessories including the popular GSXR and Busa exhaust mods.
Jesse is a wealth of DR knowledge and is always willing to share. Give him a call!

ProCycle is like a DR650 Superstore with many cool upgrades and accessories.
Their web site is like the Sears Wish Book for the DR650 (and others) and includes
items in almost all the catagories listed here! (I'm not going to link each product at ProCycle)
Jeff is a great resource and spends a lot of time on the forum sharing his expertise.

Battery and Electrical
------------------------------------------------

Lot's of choices for battery replacement, from the stock Yuasa to an inexpensive aftermarket.

One reputable battery is the Deka ETX9, made by East Penn Manufacturing in Lyon Station PA

You can look for a local distributor on their web site.
http://www.dekabatteries.com/

Thanks to Sarah aka "greer" for letting us know the ETX9 is available from O'Reilly under their Super Start brand.
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0058&ppt=C0393

There are also some higher capacity Yuasa batteries that are reported to fit our battery box.

The stock YTX9-BS-BS is 150x87x105 mm and 8AH/120CCA
The YTX-12A-BS is an AGM battery with the same dimensions and 9.5AH/175CCA
The YTZ 12S is an AGM battery that is 150x87x110 (5mm taller) and 11AH/210CCA
The YTZ 14S is an AGM battery that is also 150x87x110 and packs 11.2AH and 230CCA

Sweet, great list. I've had the same trouble with finding and refinding so that is very helpfull. kientech is a great place and Janet and Jessee are great folks. They have a SS head pipe they should be releasing at the end of the month. Only 40 available and only $220. Another good site is www.tpi4x4.com they have all sort of goodies and there right above Knoxville.

Sticky would be nice... but I'll keep updating it as I'm always on the prowl for DR parts and pieces. That should keep it close to the top anyway.

This list is nowhere near complete, I've lost a lot more stuff that I'll find eventually. Adding a few more links tonight.

Keep on Thumping!

DR650 Accessories

Thanks for all your work in putting this together. I'm a noobie to DS, and just purchased an '07 DR650. I've added Yukon II soft luggage, EBay rack (took a little bit of modifying to make them work together), brake cylinder guard, case guard, Corbin Seat, IMS tank, Pro Taper Bars, brushguards, and a bash plate. Can't for the life of me find anyone who makes a sharkfin guard and/or front rotor guard. Even if they advertise, they can't deliver. Any suggestions???
