Looking for someone in California I can send my head to to have new stainless valves installed. Who's good?

CAFlash (Bob) is in California I believe, you can contact him over at ktmtalk.

If it were me, I'd be using Travis @Thumper Racing (Nevada) or Dave Hopkins (Seattle Washington) but neither of these are in Kali.

Good luck!

Not in Cali but not that far, I would trust Dave Hopkins. http://www.djhcyclesport.com/

He built my 540, including oversize Kibblewhite SS valves. He also unshrouds the intake valves to let the motor breathe better.

Q and E, they are in Anahiem and do all the headwork for most the builders here.

Sean :

Dave built my head plus the 540 barrel and a 41 mm overbore on the carb. One super bike.

Yeah same thing here with an 833 cam. On DOT knobbies it was good for better than 110 mph on pavement. Never could see 100 on dirt, too much wheelspin.

I got stupid and killed it spectacularly. Had about 6000 awesome kms on it up to that point. Miss that motor. Sorry Dave.

I have a DJH head and 540 as well. I bet he does more RFS heads than just about anybody. His prices are fair and turn around time is quick.

Does anyone know if a '05 525 MXC has AC or DC output from the stator? No headlight, so I'm assuming DC. I want to add an LED headlight.

I'd assume same as all other A/C. Check parts fiche online for your bike.

It has both. AC output for lighting and DC to charge the battery. I think 70w AC and only 10w dc? I put a trailtech stator in mine, gives you 100w DC.

There is only one output from a stator, A/C. One winding from the stator is rectified to get D/C.

Found an issue with the 525 MXC I just bought. Put a battery on it and a nasty grinding sound from the starter. Starter is fine but the gear wheel inside the case that engages with the starter has chewed up teeth. Gonna replace it, but would like to know the cause. Any experts out there?

Bike is super clean and am surprised to see this. My 525 EXC has alot of hard miles and looks sweet in the case.
