In the box is some aluminium brackets that must go somewhere, I just do not know where and the RS Concept website is also not really forthcoming with info or pics that I can get an idea of?

Much appreciated!
These help?

Okay, a search came up with a bazillion pages with (mostly outdated) references to a top rear luggage rack for my '05 525EXC.

The PMB rack is too expensive for my KLR-styled budget, and many new racks only fit newer models.

Any suggestions?

Also, would a newer subframe fit the '05?

After owning a 525 for over a year, I finally got to take it for a ride today!

Took it to a moto park, tried the motocross track and it was to much of a handful and I was ready to get rid of it after half a lap.

Was about to load it up and take it home when i thought I had better make the most of my time there and do at least one enduro loop even though I thought it would be even more of a handful on the steep rocky climbs.

I could not believe how well this thing climbs.

I was having a ball on tracks that would have been a nightmare on my old 200 EXC, and the electric start was a god send the two times I did manage to stall it on steep climbs.

Had an awesome day, the bike is amazing.

Next step is get it on the road.

lower cost rack

I had my doubts but decided to give this one a try because of price. It's been on for three years including four multi-day dual sport trips and is holding up fine.

Sounds like it is running rich.

Did you adjust the carb after rebuild?

Stronger air track after rebuild top end = more vacuum gas rich condition.

I just did my top end, leaned out the carb 1/4 turn.

hope this works for you.

Pete, I think I'm way off on mixture. I thought this might be the case. I have played with it and just don't have a solid starting point.

270 hours on my 06. Whats the most hours you seen on these before they are opened up? I am going to check the valves pretty soon, checked them a while back.

Today I broke my rear wheel tube on my EXC. I went to the local service to get a new tube and they told me that at the moment they have no more 18" tubes, but I definitely can use a 17" tube on my 18" wheel/tyre. As I needed it for tomorrow riding, I bought it.
So will this be ok to ride it? I usually just do slow woods/trails riding.

And my next rear tyre change will be exactly after a month. Do I need to buy a new tube next time or stay with 17"?

uh... that won't work....

a 17" tube will NOT fit on a 18" rim...
