But electricity still be out of order and in addition no water also ( on tap, because outside......). We go to the gas station but they have installed new electronic pumps and the guy says us no way to get gas until the electricity be back.
It's raining, it's cold, no gas no electricity no water but we still be positive. With Samir we wander in the town to find smuggled gas, but due to the recent rain, the trucks coming from Algeria could not pass, they have diesel but no gas at all in the town. We meet people, discuss, drink tea, an old man explains to us that we are stuck here for 2 weeks etc... Finaly in the afternoon Samy find a guy with a pickup who go to a town 80 km for away, he can bring us two jerrycan with 20l each. He will be back for the evening. The oued crossing Talsinnt

Wednesday 22nd October Talsinnt - Merzouga 290 Km
Wake up early, no electricity either water, we start towards Beni Tajite on the paved road, and there we take a track to the Belkhacem pass. The track still always wet and muddy, doing this track yesterday under the rain would not be easy to do. |

Once arrived to the pass, the north side is easy to climb but on the other side it more difficult, with large stones, step etc. Not really hard with our bikes, but with 1200GS for instance...

We don’t see wheel marks, we are the first after the rain.
An other ford to cross, we build a small bridge with stones, we found asphalted road at Tazouguerte |

Then the N10 which follow Oued Guir, we can see the damages due to the flooding, the approach ramp to the bridge which cross the Oued is gone, they are re building it with earthmover.
We go toward Boudnib for refuelling, the gas station is closed since a long time, we can find petrol in can, but the price is almost 50% more expensive than normal price, we try to bargain but no choice, on an other hand we need only 5l each it doesn’t matter. Young guys say that the oued is uncrossable, we will see It’s true, we try to find a way, we go on foot to evaluate, after half an hour, the feet wetted, we give up |

We decide to go to Erfoud on the road, u turn to take the bridge. I’m not enjoying to do 150km on paved road.
After the bridge we see a track oriented South East, if we are lucky we should find the track we wanted to take. I propose to Patrick to take a chance. Rapidly the track disappears, we go ahead thanks to the GPS totally of track. It’s not so easy, fortunately we have not a 4x4. Finally after half an hour we meet the track |

Straight line during almost 20km, the tracks follow a cliff, then we arrive in an area with canyons dug by water, really funny to ride, searching the right pass

Then towards East direction Algerian border to ride around a cliff and then west and south west towards Erg Chebbi
We arrive in sight of Chebbi, we was there 10 years ago, it changed a lot, Merzouga growth a lot, hotels everywhere. We refuel with gas in can, since Nador we didn’t see any gas station. We find an hotel, on the road to Taouz. Very good day. Everybody we meet say that the track to Zagora is not passable due to the flooding of Oued Rheris. We will see tomorrow |
