They usually run this the weekend after the Ruff-E-Nuff Enduro which is scheduled for April 29th (so this would be May 5-6 if the trail ride goes as it did last year). This would allow those that are interested to trail ride during the day and enjoy the comaraderie at your place Saturday night. Even if the trail ride doesn't go, the ATV trail there is open to dirt bikes. Lot of nice road rides around your area too, eh? Just some ideas for you to consider . . .
I'll run a poll in this forum to gauge interest.

Bryan,
By "Wisconsin Area" do you mean E. Minnesota too? If so, don't forget the Golden Eagles' excellent trail ride in the Zumbro River Bottoms at Theilman, the weekend before memorial day. This ride unfortunately always conflicts with GR3.

Hi Judd!

I sure do mean eastern Minnesota, eastern Iowa, and northern Illinois as well as Wisconsin and the UP. I just didn't know how to get all that in the title.

That event completely slipped my mind. Although I haven't ridden it, I understand that it is a great time on the trails. I'll see if I can hunt up some information on it. I think 2whlrcr might have posted something about this last year.

Thanks Judd!

Last year as 20-21 May and 9-10 September. http://www.goldeneaglesmc.org/trail_rides.htm

Hi Bryan, congrats on the cover shot! I'm doing a dualsport loop around northwestern Wyoming the week between the Six Days and CannonTrek II, so I'm going to miss both this year. I'm going to schedule everything around those in 2008. See you then.

Enduraid 2007

Just got info from transalper . . .

"OK Folks, it is official! The 2007 Enduraid is scheduled for:

June 15-17, 2007

The format for the 2007 event will be very different from previous
years. We are going to host a fully-loaded tour! Group campsites and
routes will be identifed, but this will be primarily a self-guided,
point-to-point event. More details will be coming as Jon, Nick, and I
do some preruns."

An update on both the Wabeno rides, For '07 both are part of the new AMA Adventure -Tour Series. there will be a seperate loop for big bikes and it is being partialy sponsored by Buell, so keep your eyes open on that.

for anyone that is an ama member and wants to participate all 3 district 16 dual sport events and as of now the Byron ds are a points series. the will be poker run or some kind of search and find type deal. . there are some things still up in the air but participation could win you some prizes. john

Hey Little John,
If I want to work at Wabeno, do I have to join the dual sport group? I'm already AMA. Have already crossed my fingers that it won't rain that weekend.

Looks like its going to be a great summer of riding in Wisconsin, plus my dad and I just added this machine to the stable to add to the excitement:

We pick it up in may, just in time.
I'll be ready for the WDT this year, no more R80 G/S in the dirt

The Golden Eagles trailrides in Theilman, MN is an excellent weekend. These trails are only ridden on twice a year and are in excellent shape. The ride will be cancelled if it's too wet.

This ride caters towards the enduro and trail rider crowd. Trails are marked in the level of difficulty. I would say the easy trails are very doable on a 650 DS bike. A good rider should be able to ride all the trails on a 650, but just slower and maybe struggle in a few spots, but still fun.

This event is low key, non competitive and a good time. You can camp at the sign up area. Also not too far from Lake Pepin area, if you want to motel it. I will definately try and make it again.

I heard they only had about ten people last year at this ride. Not sure what the status is for this year.
