Has anybody heard about the trail ride in Pearson following the Ruff-E-Nuff Enduro at the end of April. I was there last year and had a blast. I really hope they offer the trail ride again this year. I tried calling both of the contact individuals listed, and neither one has returned by call.

CannonTrek II

Been thinking about CT II.

Options:

1. Group ride the upper peninsula dual sport safari in four (or five if desired) days (1200 miles). Travel light and camp off the bikes.

2. Group ride the lower peninsula dual sport safari in four (or five if desired) days (1200 miles). Travel light and camp off the bikes.

3. Ride more of the same stuff as we rode for CT I only in the NW portion of the lower peninsula. Base camp.

I've been hearing from a few people. Looks like the interest is in the UPDSS.

To anyone that is thinking about the UPDSS, it is a lot of forest roads, gravel, ORV trails, and the like. However, there is still a significant amount of loose sand on some of the truck trails (and even some of the gravel) so you need to be comfortable/capable riding sand. (Not nearly as bad as the LP riding though . . .)

I am with Zig, option #1 never ridden the UP... YET. Here I come.

Besides it's easier for you Wisconsin guys.

Would you be starting on the West side of the UP if this were the case.

12 hour road rally (Iron Butt style)
Good fun, good people, great riding!!

If 12 hours isn't enought...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minnesota 1000
June 22-24, 2007

http://www.teamstrange.com/
24 hour road rally (also Iron Butt Style), and will qualify you for an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 if you do at least 1000 miles during the rally. Normally based out of the Minneapolis area.

I'm not a member of any of these clubs, but I try to help them. I'll be riding in both rallies, and shopping at the flea market.

We would start on the south side of the loop in the central UP. That way no one would be too far away if they had to quit early or we had to go get a vehicle for a breakdown. (Somewhere between Escanaba and Iron Mountain area. I'll work that out later.)

Started a CannonTrek II planning thread. Check there for details and comments.

Zigman: I think I'm one of the guys you tried to contact about the Pearson trail ride. I apologize for not getting back to you. I wrote your info down, but by the time I'd found any info on the trail ride, I'd managed to lose your number.

The trail ride is not our deal, it's put on by the Wausau Enduro Riders, which is why I didn't have the info right away. It looks like they WILL be doing it again this year, but not until the first weekend in June (the enduro is the last weekend in April). I will double check the dates and post a correction here if I have that wrong.

Another event: not a ride, but very important to any rider who likes to go off-road.
Elswhere in the Central forum there is a thread titled "Help Build the OHV Community's Voice in Wisconsin", with info about a workshop dealing with developing off-road riding opportunities.

Here is the link: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...51#post4223451

If you can go, I'm sure it will be well worth your while.

Although I'm not a BMW owner (anymore) I am a lifetime BMWMOA member AND I've always had the most fun at the midwest MOA rallies.. My favorite was 1992's DuQuion rally.. Roads sucked, but the rally was an absolute blast!!! (from what I remember )

I'll be at this year's rally. I'm not sure if I'm Stromming it, KLRing it, or maybe even riding the scooter over , but I know it'll be a good time..

Sue will string me up by the sack if I don't go, so I'll be there, and it will be fun!!!

I really hope we can get an ADV get together at this years rally, too!!
