The ferry ran a little late. Not much good light left when the bikes paraded off. What a great collection of bikes though. It would have been fun to spend more time examining them up close.

There is another good DS ride coming up the end of September near Quad Cities, IL. This ride will have plenty of hero options for the more dirt oriented DS guy. All proceeds go to the U of I Children's Hospital. Here's a link.

Just want to add a thumbs up for the Geneseo IL dual sport and enduro; Layton and the boys do a great job. I rode the enduro last year, which had some interesting challenges.
The dual sport ride is September 22 and the enduro is the next day on the 23rd.

Geneseo, IL DS and Enduro Sept 22/23

Rode mileage today. The DS loop is 38 miles with approx 18 miles off road. If you get started early enough, you can ride two loops.

The enduro is two 32 mile loops with approx 24 miles off road.

New path for big adventure bikes to cross northern WI and the UP from Mack Bridge to Duluth where it connects with the TMAT. It connects to the GLDS Expedition Michigan tracks in the LP.

In the past I got requests from people for a big bike route like this. I used to just do a custom for whoever asked. This standard route should serve people well.

If someone was considering picking up a GPS to ride some of these tracks Cabelas has an Oregon 450 on black Friday sale on-line for $199.99 right now. I have one. Good unit for what we do. This is a savings of $150-200.

Just to add to the Dual Sport schedule, Leaf River DS run by the Forest City Riders are having 2 again this year. April 7th and October 27th.

Yeah, I know it isn't in WI, but the club supports D16 aa an assoiate member so they will be points paying events for D16. If you attend, and are a D16 member, please get a hold of me. I'll most likely attend the April ride, but the October one is iffy with The Bucky being the day before.

I hear there may be some fierce competition in the Dual Sport class this year.

The Brushpoppers in Morrison Illinois will be having their dual sport on November 3 next year also. Not as close to Wisconsin as Forest City but not terribly far from the cheddar curtain either.
