And we are off. Mostly. My bike had difficulty starting. " CRAIG........"

Where now?..................

This way they decided.

Which eventually led to this rocky track that went on and on and on. And it was steep. With switchbacks.
And along came the Gilmour family. Daddy Gilmour on the BMW 1200 riding very tidy. I was impressed by the people with big bikes and where they took them.
I take my hat off to you.

Daughter # 1 Monica

Monica getting sideways

Daughter #2 Emma. Looking $50 richer as well. And Monicas' husband Nathan following.

Nathans bike suffering from narcolepsy.

What goes up must come down.

And down........

And down.........

And all the way down there? It took about 10mins to get down. Standing all the way.

I needed a after that......

And finally lunchtime. The orange KTM950 in the photo was going 2 up as well.

This keeps getting better. These tracks are awesome and I am impressed how these guys are handling them. Love the photos.

Hi K Slider. Yeah it was the optional route. A shit of a track.
The Safari would have to rate as one of the best rides of my life. First one i have been on. Saving for next year already. Beats the pants off all the road rides i have done as well. Considering this ride was the first time since 1991 that i have riden offroad like that i was most impressed i didn't come off that day. Gave my thighs a workout. My mate on the KTM990 was riding the best he ever had too. New, expensive bike and all that i think.

What bike were you on?

More photos to come of the final afternoon section tonight.

Yep, we are heading up that hill. And more. The farmer put some gates in weird, testing places.

Craig watering a plant.

And then we rode down, as usual. And came across this. "The Kingston Flyer" for all you anorak wearing trainspotters that live at home with your parents.

After impressing the train with our bikes we cruised up the road a bit to the Nevis Valley.
An old Ski hut heading towards the Nevis.

A view from the hut back twards where we came. Mainly the valley in the distance and the big hills along on the left in the far distance
.
We had to head thru the middle of that. Good bye rear tyre!

Craig negotiating one of dozens of fords. Later he negotiated one too fast and got all clean.

And so the official ride was over.
And it was time for merriment and drinking and eating

Stu, Craig (getting the octopus out) Malcolm, John, Steve, Bill, Noel and Delwyn.

Ricky

And another random scenery shot.

Some may call this an arty shot. Others may say the lens cover jambed.

Then it was bed time.
And then we woke up and rode home via a food stop in Lawrence. great food places there i must say.

A great 5 days away. And i will be back next year.
A big THANK YOU to the NZ Adventures Team but especially John Nick, Natalie Kirton and Robbie Cricket and Robbies son- in-law, who, rumour has it, is having sex with Robbies daughter!

Great photos, thanks again for posting. I am looking forward to our SI trip early next year. Hopefully we'll be able to do the Molesworth along the way.

I take it you mean he's having sex with Robbies Daughter, not his own??

Yes SPSDUC you are correct. The son-in-law is having sex with Robbies daughter, not his own daughter .............Some people just have to try and take things to a different level.
