US Rt 50, "The Loneliest Road in America". I averaged 120mph for 3 hours, including gas stops. Passed no one, and only one vehicle came from the opposite way -- a state trooper. Fortunately I had slowed to 80 when I spotted the vehicle on the horizon, so no ticket.

The best bike to take a trip on is the one you have.

It was a fine ride. 6,500 miles; 19 days solo; great weather!

Long lonely Highway

Along route # 3 north of Reykjavik Iceland

Hwy #1 east of Vik Iceland

"Of the gladdest moments in human life is the departure upon a distant journey into unknown lands. Shaking off with one mighty effort the fetters of Habit, the leaden weight of Routine, the cloak of many Cares and the Slavery of Home, man feels once more happy. The blood flows with the fast circulation of childhood. Afresh dawns the morn of life"
- Sir Richard Francis Burton
