He beat me to the question, but thanks for posting the link. I'm leaving early Friday morning... Denver to White Sands National Monument... I was planning on reversing my route to get back to Denver a bit early, but I JUST may have to head south and then west on US-70 and loop up through the Coronado Trail! That sure does look like a NICE piece of road!

I strongly advise riding it from south to north. That way you'll be in the desert in the morning and mountains (over 9000') in the afternoon. It will be 110 in the AZ desert in June.

+1! Holy cow, those are some awesome views. I had started to plan a Mongol-rally type drive down from South Carolina to Patagonia and back after college, but I ended up falling into a job instead and ... beggars can't be choosers!
