Having been raised in California, and now living in North Texas, I am continually amused at the concept of "hills" and "mountains" that people living in the middle of Grand Flatistan have. What they call mountains, we used to refer as foothills. What they refer to as hills wouldn't even rate an "up"! Hell, in Ca. my driveway had more elevation gain that you can find within 100 miles of here!
