I guess, in real terms, is it not unreasonable to carry a load eg passenger on a dirt road considering it is a dual sport bike.

For their first attempt of “you’ve ridden it off road”.

I responded by referring them back to their own promotional material which both, implicitly implies and explicitly states that this model “can be ridden off road”.
I then backed it up with “ it’s never been ridden off a gazetted road” which was stretching a long bow but I figured defensible, as all ( cough )the roads, tracks and trails I had ridden on where on my GPS maps then they must be gazetted.

As for the overloading . My bike does have a safari tank, and MS pannier frames, which is what they mentioned when they tried this one on .

My response was.
The safari tank holds 12.5kg more fuel than std, I am a minimalist traveller and always travel with no more than a total luggage weight of 12kg gross
The owners hand book states that the max capacity of the bike is a GVM of 350kg.
With a bike curb weight of 166kg this allows for 184kg for rider, luggage etc. before the max is reached
I weigh 80kg in full gear + 12.5 kg fuel + 12kg luggage = 104.5kg
QED.

Hi all currently looking to go to a bigger bike. Current one is a Dr650 07 12000kms with a lot of extras. would I be better to return to original or sell as a complete ready to go. It has Renthals, bar risers, screen, Zumo550. uhf, Teknic suspension, gold valves, safari tank ,wolfman tank bag, andyz panniers, pivot pegz, bash plate, exhaust, jet kit, has just had new bearings right through. which way is it worth more to me? Bog stock and ebay everything or as a complete ready to take away unit.

Can you use a credit card in a private transaction short of getting a cash advance?
