Check Ebay

I bought some similar to this from ebay (mine were from a different seller in Hong Kong but look the same) 30,000km ago and they've been good.

Think I got mine (Weld on ) from Procycle.us, but because of minimum postage you need to order a few things to make it worthwhile.(lots of things in online catalogue).

Poor charlie has been sitting in the sun (cover on) for a few weeks. There wasn't much fuel left so could it have evaporated via the safari tank.
I have treated him badly of late but if he starts i hope to make it up to him.

Charley should get together with my DR and set up a battered DR shelter, somewhere where their present owners can't find them, somewhere were they can start a new life safe from abuse

He may need to soon. He has a bit more abuse to suffer yet.

I only need the housing but a complete one would be easier to source.
The one l have was damaged when the guts of the reservoir decides to escape.
The circlip took a big nick out of the housing when it busted out of its groove, rendering the housing useless.
The little bladder inside also got lunched but that's no problem to replace.
Any leads appreciated.

Cheers
I will very soon Tenerrod. I'm waiting on my new one from Cogent Dyanamics. I'll be about a month or so until I get the biek rebuilt and am comfortable enough to see the stock parts though.

I think most DRs suffer from some form of abuse. I know mine does.
It gets beaten like a red headed step child for months at a time then randomly treated with respect and kindness for a single weekend when I do oil and whatever else I can be bothered doing. Then I go back to spanking it.
I even ripped the poor buggers legs off and stuffed ones from other bikes on.

Hello, my name is T.K. and I'm a serial DR abuser.

Oil is clean through sight window just doing it as it's a new bike to me so want to start off fresh.

Carb has not leaked a drop since the float was replaced and I even forgot to turn off the petcock once.

Fuel in the oil is not likely to change the appearance.

That's good, but if the needle has a witness line in the tip, I would still replace it.

Thanks but l think we're all sorted now. It was for a mates bike and he's gone to visit an inmate with one.
Cheers.

DR650 SE 96 - current are all the same, so should be OK. If in doubt, ask the vendor.

Hi all,

Bought a ex-demo 2012 DR650 a couple of months ago. Been enjoying the ride, adding some extra's, making it more comfortable and getting used to some light trail riding. I'm loving the comfort of the big thumper on the highway, as I came from riding an underpowered 250 single, which would vibrate like crazy at 90+ and make my feet and hands go to sleep after 40 minutes.

I'll do a proper thread writeup sometime soon with a bit of my mods and history and everything, but thought I'd just put a post in here saying hi first.

Cheers,
John

On a side note, I never understood why there was a main DR650 thread in Thumpers and a 'no moaning and bitching' DR650. It seemed pointless to have two very similar threads about the same bike...until I was reading the main DR650 thread over the past few days. There has been ongoing petty arguments for literally 8+ pages. Pretty sad/crazy.

My bike is booked to have the tyres changed tomorrow but the battery is dead. I swear I have in the past had charging done with a regular car charger. Its an agm battery and research seems to suggest the car charger is ok. Is it ok to if I keep an eye on it?
