Any Ulysses owners in Northern Virginia?

I live in San Francisco, but I'm planning on moving to Northern Virginia in the next year or so. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a new Ulysses which should work out well here since there are two dealerships within range. There are HD/Buell dealerships in Northern Virginia, but since I'm not going to have the opportunity to visit them, I was hoping someone here might have had some experience with them. Any feedback on Buell dealerships and service centers in Northern Virginia?

Thanks,
Christian

I'm in Tennessee, but I've done some riding in our lovely neighbor state of Virginia.

It's a riders paradise over there. Be sure to work your way down to East Tennessee and Western NC for some sweet roads. Hit Shady Valley, Tennessee too. It's not far from the Virginia state line. Read about it here:

US421 ROCKS!!!

I'm in NoVA, but no real experence with the HD dealers in the area. I know my neighboor who untill recently owned a sportster complained about the poor quality of area HD dealers. He now has a V-strom and I haven't heard any complaints.

good luck and you have my condolances about the move - I'm hoping to do the exact oposite here soon

Do you like "hanging out" and ANY motorcycle shop? I like riding. If I'm going to the shop, it's for warranty work and that's about it.

That's what is so nice about Buells. They don't require much maintenance, so you spend less of your time "hanging out" and more time riding. The way it should be.

I do not know about NoVa but I am presently starting to check out a dealer in Annapolis, Md. the service Mngr, parts counter fellow and two of the wrenches are Buell riders. One races. I will see how good they are. They have given me parts to replace that were under warrenty and all I needed to do was bring in the bad parts. I was able to do the install myself. The sales people at the dealership do not seem to attuned to Buell's. There is also a dealer in the Gathersburge, Md. area that I hear is pretty good. If you get it our in S.F. are you going to ride it to the East coast? should be a fun ride.

I wasn't planning on riding to the east coast, but maybe I should consider that. I don't really want to leave San Francisco, but my wife's family is on the east coast, so I've agreed to move, but maybe I should make one of the conditions that she goes ahead with the kids, and I ride across the country on a new Buell.

Suddenly moving doesn't sound so bad.

I grew up in CT. Don't leave SF for the East Coast, believe me.

Yeah...stay out there with the earthquakes and grid locked traffic. You'd hate it here:

This road is in East TN & West NC...but roads like this abound around here.

I grew up in Northern VA, and have only lived in SF for 2 years, so the east coast is home. Although i prefer it here on the west coast, at least I know what to expect.

I just need to find a good HD dealership in Nothern VA, and I'll be happy enough.

If you think CA, a place the size of Japan or Iraq, is all earthquakes and grid-locked traffic you've been watching too much TV Have a look here. http://www.pashnit.com/motoroads.htm

Btw, i agree the East coast is beautiful, just wasn't crazy about the humid summers and cold winters.

Talking another suggestion

Might I suggest www.Badweatherbikers,com

Dedicated Buell Website that might give your query more purchase. I find the Ulysses a wonderful bike for the mountains here in the east. HD/Buell dealerships are very subjective; I have been very pleased with my experience here in Roanoke. A nice ride from NoVA if you ever get this way. Windchill

Cold winters? It hit nearly 70 here a couple of days ago. High today is near 60. Yeah, we get some cold weather from time to time, and even a little snow. It's nice. I love the change of seasons.

I've been to California several times. Been to LA, Sacramento, San Fran, Napa, Oakland, San Jose, Palo Alto, San Diego, and all points between on Hwy 1 between northern and southern CA.

I've not seen anything as beautiful as the Appalachian Mountain chain. Well...with the exception of the Rockie Mtns. Colorado is God's country.

Here's quite a good area to ride in.
