Inspirational Bike Trade
After about a year of riding a Tiger 955i, I feel that something is missing from my riding/commuting experience. The tiger seems to be the perfect bike for my needs but i just don't find myself thinking "yeah I get to ride my bike today." I can't put my finger on what it is but the other bikes that peak my interest - while being much more impractical - are the wr250x, hypermotard, and bmw megamoto. Does anyone else have similar experience or advice? I ride 40 miles one way commuting every day with a bunch of trails in my backyard that i don't think the tiger would be fun to ride on. Please help me get enthused about a bike again.

I sold my 955i Tiger and picked up a Super Tenere. I couldnt be happier. I can't pass a dirt road or trail without exploring it now. Hard to believe such a big bike can be agile off road.

Get out and test ride a TIGER 800. Don't ask any questions, just go do it and post your impressions here. I'm betting on an interesting outcome.

You will find that everyone has different opinions on every bike out there. I love my Wee, but others think it's boring as hell with no character. You just need to try different bikes to find what makes you happy. Some find bliss very quickly, others take years and many, many bikes.

You want us to tell you which bike will inspire you? That's like my wife asking me which panties to wear. They all inspire me.

The current Tiger isn't extreme enough guessing from your choices to get your heart pumpin' again.
You could add some bits and make it a bit more extreme...slap on some TKCs and have an adventure...bond with the thing. Hop a curb or ride down some stairs. Abuse a fire road and throw down a 50 rooster tail... or you could ride a miserably boring cruiser for 2 years...you'll be CLAMORING for that Tiger then.... |

It ain't the bike, it's where you're riding it-or not riding it....
