Not a shred of information on the Terra Mostro from the Ducati guys at BikeWeek...one of them handed me a card and asked that I email him the link...I think they'd buy one.... I sat on the 695--wonderful ergos, the tank is perfectly shaped...very nice sounding motor, too. With long forks and swingarm and some knobbies....

Sure... the Monster frame is almost a carbon copy of the 888 sport/racebike frame, and therefore should be plenty strong for offroad (ab)use.

It looks like they have all their bases covered, but here are a couple thoughts:

1. I'd advise some sort of small fan for the oil cooler.
2. When Monsters tip over, the bars ALWAYS dent the tanks.
3. Flatten the seat out a bit, so's you can move around... the extra seat-to-peg space couldn't hurt.

Otherwise, rock on guys... that thing is tight!

I'm curious about steering head/trail numbers. If the steering head is unmodified and they are using the stock triple clamps they have reduced trail by about 1 1/2 inches by using forward Axel dirtbike forks. That much of a reduction in trail is a huge amount and will most likely make the bike very twitchy, especially in dirt

I have found that my comments and questions were received and responded to much more quickly via the email in post one--you raise some good points. Overland appears very eager to gather as much input as possible.

If you email the guys with individual questions, comments, or ideas, they respond...I'm not sure how tightly they want to keep the launch schedule to themselves, etc., but I would sure love to hear how things are coming along...
