Day off ride – Ocala National Forest

Attention all Florida FFs:

How about a little Ocala ride on Monday, March 12? Bike Week wiil be over, it'll be a Monday so we should have the place to ourselves. I need to make up for all the pavement I ended up riding at the Scrub.

Why Monday? I have that week off and I'm leaving to go camping with the family on Tuesday.

Now's the time to start thinking of excuses to give the boss. Any interest?

I just sent a memo to myself to take a personal day...meet at OHV parking #1 on the Powerline? We could try the areas east of Hwy 19 unless you had other plans...

After last Sunday's escapade, I'd love to come, not sure of the actual meet location though.

Area's east of Rte 19 was where I drowned the KTM.

We parked at OHV Lot #1 when we drove up together and met Barkmagnet at Big Scrub several weeks ago.

Location, location

OHV No. 1 being the area under the powerline on FR 573 just west of State Road 19? That sounds like a plan to me.

Shall we say 10 am?

Sorry I'm out. Some of us have jobs.

I need to make up for all the pavement I ended up riding at the Scrub.

What up scribe? Did your arse fall asleep on the XR? I was rockin the Natives KLR on the way back from Daytona, it's like a Cadillac compared to the XR. Sorry about letting you ride my bike with an empty tank. You guys have a good ride on Mon.

And get some pics.

Compared to the DRZ, the XR is a Lincoln Towncar on the road, so I was fine; deaf thanks to the noise of a dirt helmet at 75 mph, but otherwise fine. Thanks for the loan. I just wish I could have hung around the freak show a bit longer.

Is that your brand new TE610? What happened to the original battery?
I am exciting to see your bike. I had one TE400 and the bike was the best I've ever had (cannot let KTM know I said that...) .

It is a 2000 with about 6000km on it...the battery was about three weeks old and BikeBatts.com has it now for testing. This is a great company--incredible service--they will have a replacement battery to me tomorrow.

You and your early departures. You're killing me. Actually, traffic should not be too bad. We'd be going against it on I4 to Lee Road. It might be heavy through Apopka, but once we clear that it should be smooth sailing.

I have to take advantage of the morning air so as not to overheat the Husky...you know, before the cool winds from the Atlas Mountains subside...

Whoops, wrong continent....

I may try to get there a little earlier and see if I can break anything...
