The PIG would not have played well in that mud!!!!

The old house and the cars look like an interesting stop and don't think I've seen the other rest area either. WOOHOO new places to go.

Nothing was going to play well in that mud.
Very sticky stuff
The smart ones went around it.

Oh, and the DR having another rest and copping a bit of a spray.

Been eyeing up an overnighter down to Mount Wells. 85 km south of kalamunda as the crow flies Has a decent CALM camp and sits at 545 meters. Should have good views at sundown.
Fuel at Boddington only 20 km to the SE or Dwellingup 25 km to the W.

A wonderful place to stay on top of the mountain with a great view from the old fire tower and a great sunset
Did a mock up on Google Earth. Run from Mundaring Weir Hotel. 115 km or around about. Should give us time to pop into Boddington, or Dwellingup to pick up some cold ones for the evenings entertainment.

basic route from MWH. Mundaring Weir Road, Lockwood Road, Patterson Road, Westons Road, Dale Road, Ashenden Road, Dale Road, (Powerline "fun" detour,) back onto power lines just before Brookton Highway, cross highway, power lines, a bit of Jarrick Road , cross power lines, a bit off Leona Road , power lines all the way to Albany highway, (detour to to check out Mt.Cooke?) Cross Albany Highway, power lines (steep hill section, place for a bit of fun. Maybe try both directions as there is a loop back to the highway.) Power lines until the Mt.Wells turn off. Camp.

Any takers for a midweek trip or will a WE suit more?

Hi guys,

Not sure how many of you guys are members of the RTRA, so might already have seen this.

For those that are not members, there is a survey out there, and they are looking for nominated trails.

The above link is for the website.

I've always wondered why you lot don't use the excuse of watching some racing to head away for camping trips. Like this weekend is a Pony Express in Collie. Head down on Saturday, taking some dirt along the way, and camp out that night at the race location. Watch some racing, lark about and then head home in the mid afternoon. Sounds like a hoot.

If you want, and can get organised, I can carry any stuff you want down there, like food and camping stuff, so you don't have to carry everything on your bikes and can travel light.

Just a thought. Maybe if not this weekend there's also the end of season 2-day enduro at Mornington Mills in late September - final rounds of the WA State Enduro Champs. Good facilities there with showers and food, etc.
