The Ride Movie Premiere

the premiere for this doco is on Monday night, who's coming in to watch it ???? many of you have met Jim Cairns at one of the Balmoral beer fests, come along and meet some of the other three stars.

I'm going, Guzzi will be there, Rowdy reckons he'll show up.

was thinking about a feed at the food hall , then across to the movie then maybe a cleansing after show ale at the Mustang bar, then home before I turn into a pumpkin.

My goal is to get the bike to Melbourne where I have a mate with a big shed who can store the bike until I get it back to Hobart. Bully is helping me by coming up with a few ideas for an alternative method (thanks Bully!) but I am wondering if anyone else out there has some cunning notions that they might share with me.

Selling the bike is not a good option as I would find it hard to find another dual sport bike that is small enough for a short arsed rider such as myself and is set up for touring (and I like my bike!) Riding back isn't such a good idea for me timewise either and would probably cost me as much as sending it once the cost of fuel, camping fees and ferry fares are thrown in.

Any ideas out there?

Sooray
Go to a bike shop and get a crate that new bikes come in. They generally give them away for free, but if they try to charge you then try Cullys Yamaha or 5 Star Yamaha (I have obtained crates for free from them in the past). Once you have the crate, pack the bike up and ship it as general cargo. Early this year it cost me $250 to ship a trail bike to Sydney using his method.

I'm planning to go and take a look. Doubt that I'll get there in time for a feed though.
I can possibly visualise myself having a beer afterwards.

I haven't figured out a plan yet - but roughly we'll meet somewhere at a time to be determined Saturday morning, head down to Dwellingup and pick up the Captain Fawcett Track, continue on through to Quinndanning for lunch at the pub, return to Muddy Landing and pitch camp. Head back to town Sunday morning.

I'll post the meeting time and location later this weekend unless anyone has any suggestions - my mind has gone blank and I can't seem to recall any reasonable routes down to Dwellingup ....

Toy Run today - anyone going????

Maybe one of the fine upstanding gentlemen that frequent this forum could ride it back to Hobart for you if you spring for a flight back to Perth.

runs off the Dwellingup- Waroona rd ( Nanga Rd ) about 15kms from Dwelly, nice little track that winds along next to the western side of the river.

Fireline/ Capt.Fawcett tracks

Okey dokey, seems like I might have my tracks mixed up.
I have rode down the Fireline Track which runs on the east of the Murray, Capt. Fawcett runs down the west of the Murray,
Have I been riding on the Bibbulmen?

Ian doesn't matter what side you ride. Fawcett on one side or Fire line rd on the other, go down on one and back on the other. Good camping at Muddy Landing, pity I can't make it,was coming but plans have gone to shit tonight.

XMAS Toy Run

Great turn-out (just half-a-dozen sidecars amongst thousands of bikes). Bumped into Gobby, Jay, Kerry and The Lion Amongst Sheep at the ice cream van at Joondalup Arena, and i may have seen the Alien in the crowd at Belmont Park - a great way to spend the day and there were some absolute trick bikes to check out whilst waiting for the ride to start ...

... Dad enjoying his first toy run ... He grew that attached to the teddy bear he had trouble giving it away ...

... I think this is a Busmar Astral, but I stand to be corrected ...

... CB750 hard tail ... This one is for you Rob !!!
