Where is that coming from? You will be impressed with the difference.

Bought it off a inmate ,1150 hub laced on to a 185 excel rim by woody,s ,with a touratech high mud guard
What sort of tyre would you suggest ,more aggressive the better.

Guys Hill Billy put a fantastic Snail Trail ride together wich was supported by a great turn out on the day.

What to expect one the ride....

Most importantly you will have experienced riders to offer encouragement and support.

There will be a mix of well graded dirt roads, lesser used bumpy dirt roads and some narrow trails with ruts across and along them. Possibly a few puddles and slippery mud depending on the weather.
This will require some slow riding and balance skills but nothing to stop you from putting your feet down and stopping safely at any time.
There will be a log to ride over. 4 inches at one end, 40 inches at the other. (I take the skinny end)
A big mound of solid dirt to ride over or around. There are a few open banked walls to ride up and down or along. This obstacle was (disappointingly) vastly under used by the snails last time. I personally want to spend more time here doing really simple stuff. You will benefit from this and after a few minutes you won't want to go home.
Bring a small amount of bravado to give everything a go.
Personally l drop my bike on nearly every ride. (Mostly while stationary ) but everything on a Snail Trail ride is designed for the novice rider to attempt and succeed at.
Just be prepared to give it a go cos these rides are not just ripped of our gps, they are ridden and tested over a few weekends and takes some effort to put together.
In the end the only way to learn is to give it a go and this is the perfect environment for just that. Don't kick back and watch, ride the sand or dirt hump. If your not confident, ride beside it or around it.

Thanks again Hill Billy for your past and hopefully future efforts. You're a credit to the Perth riding scene and a really funny drunk.
You been drinking again Rod?

But thanks for your support

It seems there is some interest in repeating the last snail trail so I'll think about some dates and post something up.

But if anyone else wants to do one in a different location, I will be happy to help on the day.

Michelin Desert for me.

I'll be interested to see how the high guard works. Almost seems pointless when the fork brace is still only a few mm away from the tyre.

I thought you would want the pig model.

I can picture you on a hog. You would be able to wear your normal Saturday night tassells and chaps.

Hi all,
Finally get a pass out to ride my bike..
So i am just zipping down to manji on sunday morning and watching a bit of motox from the bar..
Then camp out and ride back monday morning.
saddly it be black top mostly.
But the weather looks good for playing in the dirt, so next time back from work, i will throw the knobs on and come play..
If anyones down at manji say gday, i will be the bloke drinking from 9AM..
