Watch out

My nephew got hisself a dirtbike recently ( I didn't even know he got one).

He was on an innaugural ride by himself and totaled the bike. It seens that he ran into a chain someone streched across a fireroad. According to the reports he is at least alive.

He eneded up knocked out numerous gashes and embedded stone a concussion. Some rider came by and found him and he was still out cold. Not sure how long he was out. This info is second hand from his mom.

If you go and play offroad please look for the unexpected.

bummer

I hope he is OK.

that would be a serious wake up call. At the rate we take some of the blind dirt road turns around here, I'm always concerned about opposing traffic doing the same thing to me.

While I enjoy riding alone.... the buddy system rules.

Sorry to hear about his crash, I hope he is ok and heals quickly. I always wonder about cables and chains. There are a couple parking lots around here and they will string up cables and you can hardly see them, until you are on top of them.

I rode this weekend with wxwax on some FS roads and he watched me avoid becoming a hood ornament for a truck barrelling around a corner and all over the road. Luckily I missed him, but I was not even going fast. I hate to think what would have happened if I was really moving. It is better to just go slowly around those bends even though it feels so slow. That alone may keep me from getting a DRZ400, because it would just want to be ridden fast. Be careful out there.
