warmed up enough for me to take my DR350 out yesterday morning then ride the DRZ in the afternoon. Looks like the Tacoma area is starting to look good for riding weather. About time.

Indeed. I've been riding to JBLM every day this week. Almost warm enough for me to ride to PT.

Gonna head south for the 4-day... take the coast down to Astoria and then over to Portland

I need a bigger bike so I can do rides just like that. I have made that drive and it is beautiful. Have a safe ride.

3/30 Saturday Ride from Blyn

Sunday's ride from the Longhouse at Blyn began with a mugup and bike BS session in the parking lot. Serious business over with, we adjourned to Howard Heights road where a new logging road led me astray once again. Blackboots was the only one who knew better than to follow me and patienly led us to the correct turnoff.

Here's Deanman from PA and it looks like he's just run Loflow off and is hooting his king-of-the-hill victory.

The antennae on Radar Hill look like some kind of giant fungi infested old growth from a distance.

We rode to several of the overlooks on the mountain and spoke to a gent whom had just conquered the powerline hill climb from Woods Rd. The overlook above the casino is great on a clear day and the balance of my photos were taken there.

Here's Blackboots, Deanman and Loflow dismounting for the photo op.

Hwy 101 squeezes between 7Cedars Casino and Sequim Bay

Looking West toward Mt Angeles and Deer Ridge

Descending the mountail we rode up 2840 to try for a view from Bear Mtn. It wasn't to be as the wood cutters haven't made it there to clear the windfalls and our little saws would have kept us busy for a month! We split up here and Loflow and I rode backroads to Quilcene for a late lunch, stopping to view the gorge on Snow Creek and railing the twisties on Lords Lake Loop Rd.

It was a good ride to shake some of the rust off. Thanks guys for coming out! Dave

Dave and the crew. A fantastic day to brush off some cobwebs.

A Bigfoot in riding gear sighting?

Upper Elk Lake later in the day. The snow was impassable about a 1/2 mile up the road. Still low but higher than last year at this date.

Couldn't a couple of weeks ago. Probably be a few more before it's passable methinks. Couldn't make it thru on Memorial Day weekend back in '07 but I don't know what the snow pack was like then vs. this year.

Lake Cushman with Mt Ellinor and Mt Washington in the background.

The snow level is pretty high for this time of year, but there sure seems to be more downfalls this season.

LoFlow, I've wondered if the higher average "wetness index" of this last winter meant that every wind storm had a chance to blow down a tree or two.
Red and I rode around the peninsula Saturday and noticed the blowdown's even from the paved roads.
Great pic of the lake! Dave

Pavement ride out of Oly tomorrow

Our monthly road ride out of Olympia is tomorrow. The destination is Mount St. Helens and the meet time is 9:30 at Yamaha Motorsports of Olympia, 6807 Martin Way E Olympia, WA 98516.

I'm unable to ride tomorrow so you could be riding with strangers (gasp) but Badboy Steve and Dandemotoman from ADV are frequent riders with the group so there could be familiar faces.
