Also related would be a suggestion or two on a decent and affordable hotel like place for crashing that night, preferably a short distance from the eating/drinking activities.

A possible evening activity could include planning my route for Saturday. I'm headed for Death Valley, and would like to get as far as Redding/Eureka on Saturday, but would skip some progress in favor of good Oregon roads that I should test out. Other discussion could include beer, my recent trip *through* my garage door, beer, how to replace BMW grips without ruining the heating elements, that great thing that's coming up that everyone is going to but I don't know about, beer, what's your favorite smiley to include in ADV posts, er... beer. Did I mention beer yet?

Hopefully you're not all busy that night...

I would normally hook you up but I am going to a hockey game that night.

Lots of route info flowing around here... lots of good beer too.

Girl Scouts

Hey folks, someone pulled a really nasty trick on a local Girl Scout troop and left them holding the bag for $24,000.00 (Twenty Four Thousand Dollars) worth of cookies. If they can't sell these cookies, they will be left holding the bag for them. Four decades ago, I had the privilege of being an instructor in Canoeing and Archery for the Girl Scouts. I make a point to buy cookies every year, at least 6 boxes. I know I don't post here that often, but I'm asking as many local ADV members that can to help these girls. They are holding a special sale tomorrow, at 9620 SW Barbur, here in Portland, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. A great excuse to get a ride in, and hey, they fit in a pannier, quite easily

Supposedly they're going to be selling more next weekend. I support the Scouts, so I'll probably drop by and pick up some.

Thats what happens when a V-Twin paint shaker works it's way into the herd. They ride around with their feet stuck out in front which causes wind to be blown up their butt. This gives them an attitude and all of a sudden were not good enough to hang out with......... Once they put on the assless chaps it causes even more wind to be funneled in and the situation is pretty much terminal.
