OMG I'm posting in battle scooters - Big Ruckus ?
My fiance sold her vulcan 500 and has decided to save and get a lexus suv instead of a larger bike ...... oh well... However, this is an opportunity for me to get something else with the excuse that she could have something to ride when we went out.
I'm also trying to think of something fun, practical.. well fun actually on a semi small budget. I've looked at scooters but most leave me wanting aside from the ruckus and the large ass scoots like the silverwing, etc.
Any of you who own the big ruckus, how is life with this thing? Oil changes easy? Gotta inspect valves every 20 minutes? Would this thing be up for a 5 hour 55mph weekend getaway? I like this thing.
*EDIT looks like this thing is on its way out.. ? http://new.advrider.com/forums/showt...=184314&page=3

Give JohnTM a PM. He's got the Special Edition Blingus Maximux Ruckus, aka "the big Ruck You". Baldy (site owner) has one as well.
Everything I've heard about them so far is that they're darned good.
too bad about Honda taking them away from us. Another really cool Honda that went over the heads of the US market.
Only an XR1200 owner knows why Cthulhu hangs its head out a car window.
Like I like. Yep.

I ride one also and love it. Don't really have motorcycles to compare it with but compared to my wifes Burgman I like it alot better. Easier to handle, better looking, tons of fun!
I havent had any issues with it, may have one relating to the service department overfilling oil but that isn't the Ruck's fault.
My dad actually liked it so much he bought one after seeing mine! He hasn't owned a bike 15 years but saw the BR and had to get it
As 4 the questions: Yep, I have done a few longer type rides with no problems at all. Oil changes are very easy, and although 2006 is the last year parts should be plenty for a long while. Plus you can probably haggle a 2005 or 2006 down a bit from the dealer.
