The Sun was out- So was I
Did not do anything special. Well I guess just being on the bike is special.
Left the homested about 9:30AM from Dallas. Headed North to Oklahoma. Went to the small town I spent much of my childhood in, to visit memory lane. Everything looked different, but the memories were there. There are now Moble Homes in the field my brother and I used to play in. The woods are gone where we used to explore, More homes. The little diner my Grandfather used to take us for breakfast is gone. There is a WalMart where my Grandparents house was. The tree we planted over the grave of our best dog is 30' tall. Our brick home now has siding. The old stone school house has been torn down and replaced with a new brick school. The corner drug is a second hand shop. All the dirt roads are paved. The road down to where we used to fish and my grandfather first let me drive, I think I was 8, has a heavy metal gate and is locked. All in all it was still a good day. Pleasent Day, Pleasent memories, Pleasent 300 miles. Rob Z. Back in the present. |
