So you only dip your toes into Canada, and then head south again?

Then again, the weather here hasn't been too hospitable.

Have a safe trip!

We're toe-dipping, although we'd love to spend more time here. We are being chased by weather a bit, and by commitments back home a bit too... sometimes work interferes with our social lives We would like to come back north again in the summer and make the Newfoundland / Nova Scotia loop.

Haven't been to NFLD, but I have been to Nova Scotia's and that's lovely country too.

At least the Falls was a good place to spend a little time before the wx and that boss/work thing tugged at your chain.

Be safe & stay warm!

Humm, just sitting here at Jacks bar in Niagara falls sipping some Makers Mark with my girl listening to a real hot Canadian band, the Mad Hatters, with a nice Cuban cigar ready to be deployed. Life is indeed good!

I went through Kitchener, Hamilton, Stoney Creek and hit either heavy rain / t-storms in the AM, or SNOW in the PM.

It's a good place NOT to be two wheeling on!

Yes, while cruising along the bottom of lake Ontario we encountered a very ominous dark sky and approximatly 30 mph gusts of wind this continued many miles.

We're looking out the window this morning in Williamsport at some falling snow, luckily it seems to be melting as soon as it hits the ground. It was a bit of a cold ride yesterday, we started from Niagara under cloudy skies and 40-degree weather, went through some sub-freezing weather in southern New York, and then entered Pennsylvania last night with a balmy temperature increase to about 40 degrees. We did see some snow and sleet, but nothing was sticking. As a consequence, we didn't get quite as far as we anticipated during yesterday's riding, but we did find ourselves by chance in this really pretty town, in a very unique old hotel called the Genetti, which I would recommend to any traveler. Sometimes the best things in life come completely by surprise

We think we will bypass Washington DC today and instead head through the Allegheny mountains and eventually to Roanoke and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We uploaded the first hundred photos yesterday, which takes us through about two days of our journey the rest will have to wait until we get home to a reliable connection!

The all-important trip preparations:

Start of day two: we got a bit wet at the end of day 1, and grandpa helped us hang our gear out to dry:

We took photos of most state line crossings:

Hey guys, the midwest is really flat with a lot of straight roads...

About to cross the 1000-mile mark on this journey:

Finally we cross the Niagara River and cross over into Canada, both geographically...

...and politically...

More to come in a couple of days, when we again have our sweet, sweet high-speed access!
