Cassody, KS with a mixed bag.

Heading out first thing in the morning from just south of KC, MO to ride to the Cassody get together. Anyone want to join up we have a small group so far.

http://www.micoks.net/~kccc/features...y/cassoday.htm

We (wife and I) will head down to Adrian, MO to meet the rest. Mel (78 year old friend of mine) another bud of his (both of them on Burgmans) and another feller on a Harley. So far we just have those four bikes. We will cut down to Butler and follow 52 west and some other highways to Cassody. Your welcome to join.

Sounds like fun, if you are just riding pavement run north out of Cassoday on 177.

Well this was going to be a ride report. I guess I'll have to start a new thread in RR today when we get back.

It sounded like an all call to local riders to join you, so moving it to the Regional Forum for your area is what we do. ... We'll look for your ride report in Ride Reports

A riding buddy ('06 Uly) and I rode down this morning. Got there about 8:30 before the long food lines. Pretty good crowd gathering by the time we left at 10:30 or so. Lots more bikes on the road coming in.
A bit chilly early, but warming up nicely enough by late morning.
Several GSs, a handful of V-stroms, a nicely kept Transalp (and another on the road), and enough KLRs to make a pretty good pile .
Normally would have looked for a bit of gravel on the way home, but it's been pretty wet, so we stuck to pavement. 177 north to Alta Vista, then Mill Creek Skyline Drive to Alma (old K-4; chip-seal road with no traffic, lots of curves, nice vistas and lots of limestone buildings along the way).
Chase and Wabaunsee Counties are beautiful this time of year.

Are you in Alma? Ever see a cigar smoking blonde woman around town?

Topeka. The short route from Alma is I-70, which isn't worth telling about. You've given me a new holy grail, though.

Turned out to be just Mel, my 78 year old riding buddy, and myself. We did not leave his house in Adrian till 0745 due to waiting on another rider that finally called in sick...........had the craps.

Anyway we followed 54 across the cut up to Cassody. We attempted to take some of those roads out of M.Green east, but they all turned to gravel and Mel being on a Burger made that a NO NO. Got there at 1230, hung around an hour, then jumped on 35 to Ottawa, down to Rantool, Osawatamie, Block, Drexel, Archie.........then we split and I cut back up 71n while he went south. Rode 400+ miles met great folks, and it took me 13 hours. Great Day!!!

My work partner of the last 15 years lives just south of Rantoul. I rode around Alma with Radical last spring, nice country.

Pilot, I think I slept ten hours last night, and no ticks. Thanks for the hospitality.

Have you ridden the Burgman? I always wander over and look at them when I'm in the Suzi store.

No I have not, but this 78 year old was impressive. He still has lots of ride left. I hope I still have the enthusiasm he has 38 years from now.

There is a Battle Scooter section of this forum. That is all it deals with is the big displacement scooters. Scroll down under bikes, etc.
