SEQld Ride day

Just a short note to say it was a great day guys. Glad everyone made it through without to much damage. A special welldone to Tunaranch for his first serious dirt effort. Especially surviving the down hill run over Mt Buggerry which caught me by surprise this time. That was one bloody steep, loose peice of track . Those of you who left early missed the nice little water crossing coming out of the Brooloumba range area. Even though rain threatened it held off and all riders agreed it was a great day out.
Looking forward to doing it again guys.
Heers a few pics. Should have been more but the bloody batteries died on me. Please add some will ya guys.
Cheers
Craig

Excellent ride Craig, you deserve a pat on the back. A great day was had by.....well, most of us anyway and I`m sure stories about "the hill" will come to light soon.
I`m sitting here an hour after getting home. Absolutely knackered, arthritis killing me, but the adrenalin is still buzzing. Things can`t get much better for me than that.

I think I've set personal records for longest day spent on a bike, and longest travelled in a single day.

And boy am I glad I came out today. I had a ball. I'm glad I didn't come off after laughing like a maniac after coming down 'that' hill.

After seeing that river crossing, I'm glad I peeled off when I did! (Didn't get home till like 5, so bloody good I left early)

Yeah, and no photos of the 3rd one which was the worst

Nearly ready with the pics.....

In the meantime..... Thanks Craig, good route you took us on today. I'm glad people weren't waiting for me, I was worried I might hold you up. Chris' advice to thrash his bike seems to have worked and now I have to put a new rear tyre on it, it is wallaby ted's cousin (roo ted).

I've not ridden such a large bike on the dirt before, and not a lot on proper dirt bikes, so I never thought I'd feel comfortable powersliding >250kg of german engineering at >100kmh in places; that bike made me look good . I must've done a lot of k's sideways today, hence the new tyre requirement Once I got used to the mothership on the dirt I couldn't resist! It's definitely not light, but surprisingly easy to flick around, as I found out chasing shanks through that section before the lookout.

I left the ABS on all day, figuring that the last thing I need is to lock the front. Which meant no locking up the back wheel either, or so I thought. The engine braking on the boxer was more than enough to suffice, especially down "that hill"
