Another great report, Metal Jockey. Great photography. And so cool that the Mrs. in into that sort of adventure.

Yes, I have a Dakar problem -- that there are 50 weeks of the year without Dakar!

Wonderfully Planned, Executed, Ridden, Photographed and Narrated. I can almost hear your SA accent telling the story.. (I also have one ;) )

You and your Mrs. have set a standard. It takes some balls to take that ride. I especially note you did the tour with out any specialized gear, eg. Panniers, etc. and actually travelled relatively light,, Please give me the secret on how you persuaded your wife to do that..
Give my regards to P.E. !!!

I've been so busy the last week I nearly missed this report.

Thanks Metal, another brilliant trip with great photo's !

Fantastic that Mrs Metal was able to ride with you. Mrs Beak is on a bike now and I'm looking forward to lots of trips with her.

Thumb Hey Boet

You have made me very homesick indeed. I can't wait to return and get some rides under the belt. Excellant Post & Pics, particularly like the paint job on your fender.

Wonderful trip report! Thanks for sharing. I toured though S. Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia right after apartheid ended. Fabulous, beautiful and unforgettable. Now I want to do it on a bike! Thanks again!

as I explained to my wife what the next travel adventure would be, she said; "let me guess, Africa must be the best motorcycling around".

dunno... hope to find out. Thanks again MJ.

Mr Platinum Jockey - this is just one of the most stunning pic's I have seen in a while - it almost looks unreal. But then again so is living on this awesome continent. Hierdie tipe van reports deur ouens soos jy maak mens weer lus vir die lewe hier in Afrika- thanks pal!

G'day Mr Jockey and darling Mrs Jockey. I've been enjoying the ride along with your adventures for some time now. Many thanks for the effort of putting them online.

I have a question for you: What sort of camera equipment have you been using while on your trips?

Cheers from an Aussie in Las Vegas. :o)

We just use a basic point & shoot digital; used to be a Casio QV 2900ux and now a Nikon S4.
