I was second of 3 950/990's on an open section of a desert ride. A 660 had just come through us and created quite a bit more dust. I had dropped back a bit because of the dust. Still, I didn't see and had no time to react to the 40cm river bed wall that I hit. It was a 4m wide washaway so dropping in compressed the suspension a little, the bank booted me off.

All I broke was an indicator, cracked one fuel taps spigot and a flat front tire. The rim (not standard) was perfect and the forks true?! I was bruised but nothing broken, dislocated or sprained.

I was very very lucky. The Koerta pressure suits back protector and Leatt did their job.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I CRASHED AT 62 MPH TO 0 IN LESS THAN 15 FEET. FLIPPED 3 TIMES AND LANDED ON MY SHOULDER PUSHED MY RIB'S IN 3/4 OF AN INCH, BUT ONLY RIPPED THE RIGHT BLINKER OFF AND BROKE THE RT. MIRROR OFF AT THE M/C. GUY BEHIND ME TURNED OF HIS VIDEO CAM A FEW MIN BEFORE SO NO ACTION SHOTS.

BLINKER

THE LANDING ZONE

I HIT A DEEP HOLE AT THE FAR SIDE OF THE MUD PUDDLE WENT SIDE WAYS THEN STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR ABOUT 6 FT FLIPPED 3 OR 4 TIMES LANDED ON MY RT SHOULDER ALL WITH IN 15 FT. THEN I WAS UP BEFORE ANY OTHER RIDERS COULD GET THERE KICK STANDS DOWN TRYING TO GET MY BIKE UP. ( I WAS TOLD THIS BY THE OTHER RIDERS ) I STILL HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE SHOULDER.

Ok, so i'm hogging the thread. Sorry.

Ok, for those of you who have the bandwidth here is the extended version of the video.

The first 3 days are in this one, missed all of day 2;

If you should only watch one or two the next two have a lot of the deserts River Route in them and are the more exciting ones;

The second day of the RAW (not much) and the section along the River towards Pella.

Into the Karoo

Heading home, the mud and rain, the Cederberge

Thanks for all your comments so far.

Awesome videos Kamanya. You take that thing anywhere. Must be getting harder to pick up with the Safari tanks.
