Husky TE610 IMS Tank now available

Many of us have been waiting for some time for IMS to start production on a larger tank for the Husky TE610.

I just rec'd this email from IMS:

"Latest news is that it was finished as of last week, and is now in production. Hall's Husqvarna in Illinois was promised the first 100 tanks, so if you want it more quickly, you may want to get in touch with them. The tank ended up being a 5 gallon tank, and they decided against using the stock locking gas cap, and went with the standard IMS threads."

I am guessing that the first 100 will be natural color with Black next in line.

I did that on the 625KTM but you are still hauling around a big wide heavy tank. The 18L KTM works much better than the 27L for all but the longest rides.

What kind of range are you guys getting now. I can go 100 on the stock. What is the stock cap 2.8G??

That's about what I get before the light comes on and yes I think stock is 2.8 or so.

Great news on the size and cap. Any pics of it out yet? If this is true the TE just got bumped up to #1 on my list of favorite dual sports

BTW for the previous body-style big tanks are (or were) already available, directly from husqvarna even. Dunno if they are still making them, but you should be able to find a used one if you look long and hard enough.

I think stock TE610 capacity is 3.5 gallons, 5 gallons would be an ideal upgrade

3.5 gallons and she runs out at 119.2 miles that’s 34.05 mpg. That’s while riding aggressively.

I was told that proper re jetting would improve mileage

Fuel capacity was a contributing factor to selling my TE610 in favor of the KTM 640 Adventure. Lord knows I think the TE610 is a better bike. What sucks is the guy hasn't picked it up yet and seeing it here in the garage and not riding it is killing me.

Yes -----I have------I want to thank publicy GasPipe and all my other riding buddies who have graciously loaned me some gas in the middle of Baja and Nevada deserts when the 610 sucked the last drop of gas out of it's float bowl. Now maybe I won't be such a pain in the ass

Maybe we better stop crowing about the new tank--as the UPS man still has not dropped it off yet----and I really don't know when he will yet.
